Man vs Wild - who watches it?

I saw it for the first time I guess last week or the week before he started out on a bike and I'm like hello this show is about what???? LOL

Mommy2BAK replied: my in-laws were watching this while we were over there one day, that man is crazy. But I think I've actually learned a few things. (If I'm thinking of the right show)

luvmykids replied: I love that show, I was bummed also, to hear he doesn't always rough it like the show implies but I still think he's pretty cool!

PrairieMom replied: We have both that show and Survivor man on DVR. I think Bear is great to look at, but I hope to heaven no one ever tries the stunts he pulls. that guy is an I-D-I-O-T. I was not surprised at all to hear that a lot of his show is staged. The survivor man on the other hand is way more realistic.

The Man v Wild guy does totally reckless unnecessary stuff to "survive". Like we watched one where he "made" this bridge to span a RAGING "creek" (it was bigger then just a little stream) that was like a good 10 feet below him. And ALMOST fell in. Just to get to a tree on the other side that looked like good shelter. HELLO! You're in the forest, nix the reckless stuff and find something easier to get too!

Survivorman is crazy b/c there is NOBODY w/him, he is truly out there "surviving".

I thought I saw him do an interview where he said he was out there doing everything and that the crew was NOT allowed to help him out in anyway unless it was life or death??
He is gross when he eats things.....EEWWWW!!!

Farelle replied: Oh man......that stinks. I'll have to go back to wathcing Meerkat Manor, at least THAT's not staged!!!

C&K*s Mommie replied: I figured some of it was staged since there were different camera angles, and the cameramen had to get down/across somehow before Bear did. I also picked up that the cameraman is walking steady with a lofty camera in his hand no doubt, but Bear is teetering across rocks nearly falling off the edge at any minute.

All in all I like him, and he is something good to look at.
I read the biography on him recently, and it is great to know that he is living an unconventional life since his home with wife and kids is on a barge.
