Mckaylee is trying to sell - Leithan on buying her a feret

mckayleesmom wrote: Today I took them to the pet store to look around. I wanted to see if they had lionhead rabbits...They had them, but Mckaylee fell in love with a white ferret...She was really sweet. I'm not partial to animals with red eyes, but this ones temperment kind of won me over.

Right now Mckaylee is walking around telling dh all about this feret. Dh doesn't care for ferets because of the smell...He just told her they would go look at it tomorow... rolleyes.gif

Maddie&EthansMom replied: Maddie has wanted a sugar glider for years. I told her when she gets straight A's on her report card. It hasn't happened yet.

mckayleesmom replied:
I use to have one of those...Be careful because some of them are mean. Mine was really mean and I finally got it to be a little more friendly and it died. dry.gif

Also, they are not FAMILY pets..they are only meant to be a one person pet and they are nocternal...So during the day it will want nothing to do with you. They also make this horrible scream if you disturb them during the day or they see your shadow while they are trying to sleep.

Also Aimee...I would recomend getting one in the summer time because for the first few days you are suppose to wear it in a pouch attatched to you so that it learns your smell... rolling_smile.gif

AlexsPajamaMama replied: My husband wants a ferret rolleyes.gif

mckayleesmom replied: this one is super sweet and calm. She is white with red eyes and very loving. She was so calm and let Mckaylee cuddle with her for about 15 minutes with no fuss at all.

Maddie&EthansMom replied:
Thanks!

Right now DH is against her having any pets and she is pretty far from getting all A's on her report card {watch, I'm gonna eat my words and we'll be buying a sugar glider in a few weeks. rolling_smile.gif }

There were these ladies at the trade days in town that had some. They were breeders. Maddie fell in love. They were very tame and loving, even in the daytime. They also have a money back guarantee if for some reason it changes temperament once you get it home.

Anyway, it will be awhile. I don't want an inside pet right now.

mckayleesmom replied:
Mine was nice at the trade show too.... laugh.gif But that was probably because it had bonded with the breeder and other gliders in its cage.

Mine was named Elliot

grandma replied: We had a white ferret when my sons were young. I never really trusted it and therefore I didn't make a great owner. To be fair, it was probably my fault for not knowing exactly how to raise it. Luckily the boys gave it to a friend that begged them for it.

AlexsPajamaMama replied: my friend recently got her kids a ferret, they even have a tiny little leash for it and bring it outside in the grass its really cute.

mckayleesmom replied: I had a feret named Hudini....she could get out of anything and always getting herself into trouble...The first week I had her she dislocated her shoulder.....Let me tell you...ferret xrays are expensive.

her and the cat were best friends and were constantly getting into trouble together.

TANNER'S MOM replied: Just for my curiosty how much was the lion head rabbits?

That is what I want next. I got really really really..did I say Really mad at DH. We were at the auction Saturday and they had one Lion Head. It was all black and a boy. I didn't care if it was a buck. I just wanted one! I had already had it out of it's cage and showed it to Dh before the auction. I went to look at a horse w/Tanner. Before I left I told Dh that if that rabbit came up to bid on it up to 10.00 and told him to watch for the black cage it was in. Well when I got back they had already sold all the rabbits in the black cage and I said did you get my rabbit? He said WHAT? I forgot which cage it was in? I said how much did it sell for? He said they all sold for a 1.00 a piece. I promise I said some very ugly words to him and I still haven't forgotten it!

Ferrets freak me out. We had a friend who had some and they let it run around the house. We had a New Years Eve party and of course slept there b/c we had been drinking. But I couldn't sleep I just kept thinking of it walking all over me or stealing my ear rings or something. The next day I was hang over and really tired..lol

mckayleesmom replied:
I think they were 34 dollars....which isn't bad for them

Try Craigslist Mel...people give them away pretty frequently on there around here. Sometimes there is a rehoming fee, but not usually much.

Maddie&EthansMom replied: Oh my gosh. I just looked up a lionhead rabbit {I had never heard of them}. They are the cutest things I've ever seen in my life!!!!!!!! wub.gif wub.gif

mckayleesmom replied:
Check your craigslist or petfinder in your area. People are always getting them and putting them on there. I see tons on craigslist all the time, but they are usually too far from me to drive.

mckayleesmom replied: The Netherland dwarf rabbits are really cute too. They look similar to the lionhead, but their faces are more smushed.
