Middle names

I never questioned not giving my children a middle name, although DH and I both regretted using Kate as Emily's middle name, because now we can't use it as a first name So since we made that mistake, we picked names that we wouldn't use as a first name, but like as a middle name.

Jackie012007 replied: I hae two middle names... my full Name is Jacklynn Irene Mae R***. Because I was named after my maternal grandfather (Jack) and my paternal grandma (Irene Mae R***). So they gave me her full name in my name!

StephanieM replied: My DH doesn't have a middle name but all our kids do. I don't really think our 4th daughters first and middle name really go together but.......that's what she has now so.... I really don't know what I was thinking except that I liked both names. LOL Oh well.

Her middle name is Paisley.....first name Riannon. They just don't really go together and they are both kind of long. My others are Sierra Marie, Cheyenne Blair, and Britney Rae.

MomToJade&Jordan replied: I wasn't given a middle name. My parents gave me the name Carrie Ann after my maternal grandmother and her twin. Now I've always wondered if Ann was supposed to be my middle name, but that changed when my father suggested the hyphen (ala Olivia Newton-John ) In the end my name became Carrie-Ann and I wasn't given a middle name to go with it. I may have to ask my mother about that.

redplaydoh replied: I have a first and middle name. But from birth on my calling name has been my middle name. I would NEVER do this to a child. It has been one headache after another over my lifetime. All forms are either first name/middle initial or just first name. I could be sitting in the waiting room and they would be calling my first name a dozen times before I'd realize that it was me they were calling.

Both the boys have middle names. Lucas Reiner and Bryan Markus.

My parents did something similar to my sister. on her birth certificate her name is Shannamarie, but after the years it turned into Shanna Marie
