Migraine

Maddie&EthansMom wrote: I woke up with a migraine. sad.gif Ethan won't go back to sleep this morning so I can get some rest. (figures) DH just called to check on me, though (which he never does) wub.gif

I feel like I am going to puke.gif Why do I get these evil things??? I hope this day gets better real fast!

Kaitlin'smom replied: awww sweetie I hope it gets better fast, ther is a pressure point in between your thumb and first finger, try massaging it.

amynicole21 replied: I've been getting migranes this pregnancy, and there is not much that I can imagine is worse sad.gif I am so sorry you are going through this. Is there someone who can take the kids while you go try to sleep it away? grouphug.gif

Maddie&EthansMom replied:

I had them a lot when I was pg, too. sad.gif It really is so horrible. I pretty much have a headache everyday, but when they get this bad I just want to curl up and cry. bawling.gif

I don't have anyone to take the kids. sad.gif Maddie is fine to play by herself while I rest....she is a sweetheart. If I can get Ethan down I can take my migraine medicine and rest for a few mins.

Boys r us replied: I suffer from horrible migraines too!! Mine tend to be hormone related, as in I get them the week before AF. It's like that whole week, I'm this fragile little flower and if I don't eat when I should or I don't get exactly th right amount of sleep or I get upset or stressed over the least little thing, I have a migraine!

I hope that you feel better soon! When I get one, I pull out a bag of frozen vegtables out of the freezer and lay on the couch with it on my head and switch it back and forth between my head and the back of my neck. Then if that and motrin won't help, then I'll suck it up and give myself and imitrex injection! GOD I HATE NEEDLES!

A&A'smommy replied: I use to get bad headachs my docter told me it was migrains but I'm not so sure about that now. Have you tried Immitrex I know several people who got the shots every month and now they don't have to... wierd. I hope Ethan will take a nap so you can get some rest, I hope you feel better (((HUGS)))

kimberley replied: oh no! that really stinks! sending ~~sleepy vibes~~ to Ethan. hope you get some rest! grouphug.gif

MommyToAshley replied: I am so sorry, I hope you get some rest and feel better.

Sending sleepy vibes to Ethan and go away migraine vibes to you!

DansMom replied: That's awful grouphug.gif I hope you will be able to find some relief soon.

Maddie&EthansMom replied: Mine are totally hormone related. I just never know when they will hit. Sometimes it is during Ovulation, sometimes it is before AF, during AF or after AF. And like you, Nichole, if I don't eat at the right time, get the right amt of rest, etc it will just EXPLODE! I started natural hormone cream to level out my hormones and I really feel it will help if I start using it religiously! happy.gif

I took some Excedrin migraine. Right now it is helping, but I still feel the migraine lingering. dry.gif I've never done Imitrex inj. One of my best friends is a neurologist and he prescribes me some migraine medicine. Excedrin works just as good and I can get the generic really cheap. The only thing is it makes me very jittery and anxious (as I am shaking like a leaf right now). sad.gif But, I'm functioning and that is better than the alternative.

~KARA~ replied: I get them alot too!! mine are to much or lack of caffine. I cant drink pop like coke or pepsi that has the dark coloring, but I can drink dr pepper(odd i know)
I cant take my migraine meds cause they make me feel drunk! I normally take 2 tylenol or motrin grab a can of mt dew and "try" to lay down in a quiet room for a few minutes.
My oldest dd(7yrs) gets then pretty bad too.

Hope you feel better soon!

coasterqueen replied: UGH! ((HUGS)) I sure hope it goes away quickly.

gr33n3y3z replied: My Mom used to get those so bad she was in bed for days at a time and so sick
and they didnt have any meds out for that back then. I can remember her putting cold wash cloths on her forhead maybe that will help you

MomToJade&Jordan replied: You might think this is silly, but this used to help me when I would get migraines. Mine were always stress related so I would really get them bad in college. I used to buy an industrial sized bottle of tylenol in the beginning of the semester and it would pretty much be gone by the end. I had read somewhere that if you put an ice cube in the palm of your hand it helps to take some of the pain away. I tried it of course and it worked for me. I usually put the ice cube in the oppisite palm of where the migraine is. So If I had one on the right side I would put the ice on the left palm. I just concentrate on the feeling of the ice in my palm and it would help. The pain is not going to go away until the medicine starts to kick in so this would help out in the beginning. Most times I would feel better a little while later. I hope this helps a bit. ~~~Go Away Migraine Vibes~~~

My2Beauties replied: Oh Aimee, that is the pits!!! I am so sorry I hate those darned things. I always take Aleve, that stuff works wonders for my headaches, any type of Naproxen really works!

darrylswifeskylersmom replied: hope u feel better and get some rest!

Maddie&EthansMom replied:

Nope, I don't think this is silly at all! thumb.gif Anything that involves LESS medication is GREAT! Thanks for the tip! I will certainly try it. I do excercises as well as pressure points and that helps some. thumb.gif

Josie83 replied: God I get those too and they are no fun especially with a baby. I really hope you feel better soon xx
