Miss Megan's 4 month well baby visit

coasterqueen wrote: My little pooka is so small compared to her big sis. tongue.gif

Her measurements are:

Weight: 13 pounds, 1.5 ounces (right below 50%)
Height: 24 inches (right below 50%)
Head Cir: 15 3/4 (35%)

She's meeting all her milestones on time, which is great he said since she was a bit early. What I can't get used to is Kylie was sooooo big at this age AND she was meeting way more milestones than Megan is. So I have to tell myself over and over again that I can't do that. Megan is meeting them all *on time* and she's *average* with her measurements.

He up'ed her zantac dosage and again encouraged us to put her on cereal for her reflux but we stood our ground on waiting. She only got 1/2 her shots because we are spacing them out by a month. She only cried for a sec. wub.gif

We told him about the occupational therapy appt on her Sensory Integration issues but he acted like we were loons, that he'd never heard of it. Thank goodness we have a good GI doc and OT doc that is there for us while we deal with her SI.

moped replied: Sounds good - I am sure it is hard not to compare, cause every kid is different..........

Why don't youw ant to give her cereal? Just curious

coasterqueen replied:
We have done enough research to tell us that giving solids before 6 months of age is not good for their *gut*. It is still open til at least 6 months of age and can increase risks of allergies.

Info can be found on here for anyone interested: Why Delay Solids?

Also we did further research on not giving it to reflux babies and concluded it doesn't really help and if it did the benefits of waiting far outweighs the benefits of giving it early.

I know what you mean about comparing. The good thing....and something for you to consider for yourself...... Once you have 4, it's hard to remember who did what when w/out looking in the books! laugh.gif

We heard that same garbage when we told our doc we were seeing an osteopath for Sophia's chronic ear infections. They were just pushing for tubes which I didn't want. Funny - after about 5 visits to OT at the osteopath she stopped getting infections... imagine if I had gone through with the tubes!! dry.gif
