Missed American Idol.

DansMom replied: I taped it and watched it at midnight Each contestant did two songs, one oldie and one new. Bo, Carrie and Vonzell did very well. Scott did better than he's ever done, actually got praise from Simon on his first performance, and his attitude was less surly. Simon was less enthusiastic about Vonzell and Carrie than in past episodes (told Carrie her second song was "robotic", while I thought it was one of her most subtle performances). Bo could do no wrong in the judges' eyes, even though I thought his Stand By Me wasn't as good as the original (and who could do that better than the original?). Anthony was terrible singing Poison Ivy and just okay doing a modern ballad.

I predict that Anthony will be gone. Compared to the other four, he looked and sounded like an amateur. Scott pulled it together and made himself more appealing to the viewing audience. I don't like him and want Bo, Carrie or Vonzell to win, but I think he's not going down without a fight.

Did anyone else notice Carrie made a big babble in her second song. It is a hard song to sing very high notes..and she messed up once. But the judges didnt' know the country song enough to know..oh she sang Rascals Flats Broken Road song!

I'm a vonzell van and she did pretty well..but Carrie and Bo smoked everyone else. It's getting so hard now to predict who's gonna go! I WISH it would be Scott...ickkkkk so can't stand him!

Kaitlin'smom replied: I had to work it was opening night, so I missed it forgot to have DH tape it. He did see some of it and voted for Bo, Carrie and vonzell we dont like the other two so we are tring to keep thoes 3 in. I realy would like scott to go

bwalkerletters replied: Bo was outstanding last night! No one was even close, not even Carrie, though she did great. Hearing him sing the Los Lonely Boys song gave me chills.

My2Beauties replied: I liked Carrie and Bo last night, I didn't like Bo's rendition (sp?) of Stand By Me though, it was good but I can't bring myself to like anything but the original! I love that song! His last song was really good. I thought Carrie was the best though, I just love her!

DH was telling me that he heard there is some website that is trying to ruin American Idol and they are having lots of people vote for the worst...anyone hear that? Sometimes you wonder when Anthony & Scott are still hanging on....

jcc64 replied: It really is a messed up way to conduct a "competition". If Fox was truly interested in authenticity, they could somehow coral a cross section of the population at various remote locations throughout the country, and have them vote in a more accurate way on secure, non corruptable computers.
But I don't think they care. Any publicity is good publicity for them.
