Mum or Mummy?

Josie83 wrote: Or I guess Mom or Mommy wink.gif laugh.gif

I was just wondering, for those of you who have experienced this, when did your child stop caling you mummy and switch to mommy? (If at all) Because Cassie stil usually calls me and Jason mummy and daddy, but since she's been going to nursery she'll sometimes start caling us mum and dad. It makes her seem so grownup and I was just wondering when everyone else's started with it?

Gosh I know this must make me sound so daft but I like her saying mummy and daddy! blush.gif laugh.gif xx

ediep replied: Jason still says mommy most of the time. He calls DH Daddy or sometimes even Dada

gr33n3y3z replied: my kids are older they call me Mom and Ed Dad
But every now and then they will say Mommy or Daddy
it depends

amymom replied: It's funny, my 14 year old calls us Mom & Dad mostly, but sometimes will revert. My daughter (8) has NEVER called me mommy. mad.gif She has used Daddy but mostly calls him Dad now. But me, I have always been Mother or Mom to her. When she was little, I think my son was still using Mommy, but she down right refused. sad.gif I used to say she was born old! rolling_smile.gif

On the other hand, I still refer to my parents as Mommy & Daddy wub.gif and so do most of my siblings. (not all the time, but at emotional times) Even though they have both passed away.

Hillbilly Housewife replied: Heh heh

My kids call me honey, and call DH daddy, except after we get them from the sitters, or in the moring, or after any long period of time, they both run to me with a huge MOMMY!!!

All good with me!

Kaitlin'smom replied: I get both mom and mommy, and some times mummy or mum. I guess what ever her mood is

~KARA~ replied: Oldest dd calls me mom(and dad) and youngest call me mommy(daddy)

A&A'smommy replied: Alyssa has been calling me momma ever since she could say it but I'm trying to get her to call me mommy because it is SOOOOO cute!! wub.gif

mammag replied: All mine still call us Mommy & Daddy (even Kristen, 10). I remember I didn't stop calling my mom Mommy until I was in Jr. High but I still call my dad Daddy. All us girls do. Actually, we call mom Mother and I think it actually started out as a way of secretly disrespecting her on my oldest sisters part and we thought it was a wonderful idea. rolleyes.gif That's not very nice is it? I'll know not to let Kristen call me Mother. laugh.gif

Josie83 replied: Interesting! I can't see Ms Independent calling me Mummy for that much longer is al and it sort of upsets me, it means she's not a baby any more! rolleyes.gif blush.gif I like how kristen still calls you it, jeanie, it gives me hope! Oh, and we cal my mother Mother as wel, either that or Medusa which pretty much speaks for itself . . . tongue.gif xx

ions_momma replied: My son uses both mommy and mom for me and daddy and dad for my husband. It seems to change everyday! lol!

kel replied: mummeeeeeee (mummy)(emphasis on the eeeeeeee) and daddy:)
kira calls me by my dh's nickname for me sometimes...when she really wants to be heard:)

mama3x replied: My oldest at 13y still calls me mommy but when he speaks of me to someone else it's mom.

JAYMESMOM replied: Nic, my 6 year old, calls myself and his bio-mom - mommy & mom but calls my DH and his step-dad - dad (unless he wants something and its daddy)

Jayme , 16 months, calls me maaammaa and my dh is dada or daddy.

As much as I hate the maaaamaaa at 6 in the morning I don't ever want to be called mother.
