My DH volunteered me to babysit - A 2YR OLD

How much does a norma 2 yr old weigh. This is the biggest kid I have ever seen. He was Two in Novem..om the 22nd and he weighs 58 lbs...he wears says 5.
I have been meaning to ask if that is big to anyone else? His mom, my cousin is very worried about it.

mckayleesmom replied: Well every kid is different, but I would say that is a little bit on the bigger side. Mckaylee is 2 in April and she weighs 22lbs...but she is kind of on the small side. He might just be one of those kids that packs on his pounds right away and grows into them...kwim? I would check with my doctor thought just to make sure.

3boys4me replied: Adam is 2. He weighs about 25lbs. I just started buying size 5 diapers. He wears a 24 month in clothes.

As for the size, that is on the big side. My 5 yr. old Ethan only weighs 42 lbs. And Hannah (who is 2, almost 3) weighs about 28-30 lbs. I would talk to a doctor about his size.

Kirstenmumof3 replied: WOW that's a pretty big 2 year old! Claudia is only about 24lbs, but she has always been small. My son is 7 and I think he weighs about 60lbs.

as for the size WOW he is big, how tall? Kaitlin is 2 I dunno her exact weight yet (appointment on tuesday) but I am guessing she is about 25lbs

TANNER'S MOM replied: Well at birth he weighted 8-9 lbs. Nothing to big. She has asked the doctor, but he says he is the biggest baby he has ever seen. But she is 6ft and her husband is 6'3

I looked last night and his shoe size is 1..Tanner is 6 and wears a 12.5

kimberley replied: wow! that is big! but i agree it depends on the kid. a friend of mine has a huge son too but he is perfectly healthy. just a big kid who has big parents (mom is 5'11", dad is 6'2"). he was about that at 2yo. now he is 8yo and wears size 14 . there is only 6wks between him and Jacob and i have a job getting him into a size 6X because they are too long!

ammommy replied: That's really big! Ds is a big child, but at 3 he weighed 39 pounds! His mother needs to talk to the ped if she's concerned and needs to take a close look at what he is eating and how much he is playing/exercising.

texasp3 replied: Wow... I don't think Michael weighed 58 pounds in 5th grade! But he was on the opposite end of the spectrum, obviously. Just more evidence that those "averages" and "charts" can be pretty worthless!

Honestly - Michael was born in the 95th percentile for weight and dropped to the 15th percentile by a year. He stayed there until about 8th grade when he just exploded. Now he's 15, 5'8", about 140 pounds and still growing like a weed.

Seems to me, they all sort of even out eventually.

A 58 pound two year old could be a serious force of destruction though. Whooo!! I'm afraid that's where we're headed with #2. He was born teeny (just a itsy bit over 6 pounds) and quadrupled his birth weight by 10 months. He's now 11 months and 24 lbs 7 oz.
