My OB called yesterday

My OB called yesterday evening and told me that I had nothing to worry about. He said according to the US, everything looks like it should and that we're just off on my dates. He told me that he would have been more concerned about a BO if I was like 8 weeks along, but since I'm only around 5 weeks, it's still too early to know. I have an appt with another OB on Thursday as more of an interview and I will talk it all over with him.

Have any of you taken progesterone suppositories before? My prog levels were low with Wil, so they put me on Prometrium, but I stopped taking them once I was PG. I told my OB this, but he didn't seem concerned this time around. But I'm still wondering if I need my progesterone levels checked to see that I'm keeping this baby. And it certainly wouldn't hurt to take the progesterone at this point, right?

Also, I talked to my sis about her BO last night and she said she didn't even see a yolk sack on the US, so that made me sad for her, but happy that I do have one. And she also had a similar story about a friend who's doc told her she had a BO, but she wanted to wait another week before getting a D&C and luckily then found a heartbeat. Scary! So I'm not going to do anything drastic, don't worry! But thanks for all the support! thumb.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: so glad you feel better, deffinalty give it a week or two, I just cant believe just how early we can found out now days that we are PG hug.gif

coasterqueen replied: I was on progesterone suppositories... BLAH! I hated those things. tongue.gif My progesterone was low and they decided since I was bleeding (at that time they didn't know why, later found it was due to the placenta and a small tear in my uterus) they put me on it. My doc said once you are on it you have to take it all the way til your 12th week of pregnancy. You aren't supposed to stop before then. But I'm not sure about if you started before pg. I would ask the doc and if they think it's necessary take them, if they don't I wouldn't. Although it doesn't hurt to take them they really do know if they are necessary.

jcc64 replied: Oh, good for you, Rae. Glad to hear you can relax about the whole BO thing. Keep us posted.

Sarah&Mackenzie replied: I am so glad to hear that!!! hug.gif

amynicole21 replied: I took the progesterone as well (orally) through the third trimester. Orally, they aren't so bad - but not as effective from what I understand. I would request a blood test to check your levels just to put your mind at ease. My doc didn't want to give me one, but I badgered her until she gave in and it turned out I was a tiny bit low.

I'm glad your doc was able to put your mind at ease!

3xsthefun replied: I seen your other post and just saw this one.

Glad things are ok.

moped replied: That is wonderful - just sit back and relax and that little darling will grow!!!!!

amymom replied: I am glad your ob called.

Boys r us replied: If your progesterone levels are low, this could very well be why you're not experiencing any pregnancy symptoms!

kimberley replied: thumb.gif good news! i am so happy for you Rae! wishing you a H&H 9mos smile.gif

Sherbear replied: The dr found that I am low in prog not pg, so they immediately wanted to put me on them (suppositories) each month that we were trying. And once I did get pg they said to take them until 12 weeks. That is when the placenta is suppose to take over on maiking the prog. I personally would take them and also see about getting another prog test to set your mind at ease! Best wishes! wink.gif

CantWait replied: Glad to hear all is well hug.gif

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Thanks everyone! I will let you know how it goes in the next couple weeks! smile.gif
