My baby started Kindergarten today...

Ashley started her first day of kindergaren today. I am not sure who was more excited/emotional... Ashley or me. I couldn't sleep, she slept like a log. I got up early, she said "5 more minutes please".
I did pretty good, I didn't cry in front of her. I didn't cry until we got back in the car.
Here's a pic I took before we left this morning. I took more pics in the classroom, I Just haven't downloaded them yet.
Oh, see her bangs... I had to have them cut short because when I took her for a trim last week, there was a new lady. Well... she cut them VERY uneven so I had to have them cut super short to even them out.
Also, notice in the picture that her top button is missing. I didn't notice that the button came off until after we got to school. I'm frustrated about that too...especially since I stayed up late last night ironing her uniforms. I am calling the uniform company today... Ashley went to kinder with her button missing on her first day (and they have a strict policy about buttoning the top button)
lovemy2 replied: Adorable and she looks so excited - Olivia starts in about 2 1/2 weeks
Good for you showing the restraint not to cry until you got back to the car....
MoonMama replied: She is adorale, and looks so excited.
Hang in there mom.
ETA: BTW her bangs look fine.
punkeemunkee'smom replied: Oh she looks ADORABLE!!! I cry at everything new Tay does so you are not alone on that one Don't worry too much about the button-what a pain but I am sure the school will be understanding being the first day...besides who could look at that kid and worry about policy?!?
luvmykids replied: ME TOO! I hope I can make it to the car before I cry next Wednesday

Maddie&EthansMom replied: Oh look how sweet she looks in her plaid uniform!! I love it! I bet she is going to have a terrific first day! I cried on the way home on Maddie's first day of kinder. I want to cry thinking about it.
Maddie started school today too. 2nd grade...it's not as emotional, but I'm still having a hard time believing she's that old.
Maddie is already home...she had a good day. I can't wait to hear about Ashley's day.
holley79 replied: She is so precious! I can't believe she is starting school. I would have been bawling.
MommyToAshley replied: I thought of Maddie today. I remember when you posted Maddie's first day of Kindergarten pics. That picture was stuck in my head today... I remember thinking how grown up (and adorable) she looked.
MommyToAshley replied: Thanks everyone for asking about her day. She loved it and was excited to tell me all about the day. Rod had some work to do this afternoon, so Ashley and I went to Chuck E Cheese to celebrate her first day of school. (That was not a wise move on my part... I'm still pretty sore )
For those that asked, she only goes half days. The school has a full day program available (it's an enrichment program), but I am not quite ready to give them my baby for the full day just yet. She's ahead in many of the subjects so I didn't think it would hurt to have her in the half-day program so we can have a little extra time together before she goes for the full day next year.
3xsthefun replied: She is so cute!!
I'm glad she enjoyed her first day of school.
jcc64 replied: Oh Dee Dee, you certainly deserve to have things go smoothly after the month you've just had. I'm glad her first day was a good one- she's gonna be a real rock star at school- I'm sure of it. I had the EXACT same uniform when I was a kid. Betcha didn't know I was a Catholic school girl, did ya? Corey starts Sept 5, and I'm already getting a sick feeling in my stomach about watching that yellow bus take off down the road with my baby in it.
luvbug00 replied: cute pic. Mya had full day kindergarden. I highly reccomend it because there was no ajustment to full day. Saved me and Mya the tears She goes into secound grade too on the 4th. Glad Ashley had a great time and i hope she enjoys her new freinds and teacher!
Crystalina replied: She looks so happy!
I remember when Izabella started Kindergarten last year. I was crying like a baby after I left and other parents were looking at me like I was a nut.
Calimama replied: I'm glad she had a good day!
MotherForever2043 replied: She looks super cute I'm glad she had a great day.
DansMom replied: Oh, she looks so excited in that photo. I'm glad her first day went well
KingMom replied: she really does look so grown up. just adorable and is so excited. I'm glad she enjoyed it so much and that you were able to help her celebrate. I keep thinking that I have SO long until that starts for us but only two years and I'll be doing the same thing, crying and all
mom21kid2dogs replied: She looks so adorable (and grown up) in her uniform!!! we had the same "hair disaster" with O's bangs right before Kindy last year~too funny. Of course, now that she's "nearly a teenager" (as she informed me last month) she's growing those bangs out! First graders~ugh!! It's amazing how fast it all becomes routine Dee Dee. You'll be shocked and suprised!
Cece00 replied: She is so cute! Glad she had a good first day.
