My earless rabbit "Ears".
Crystalina wrote: I remember someone getting a rabbit...Moonmama? Anyway, I said I would post pics but I can't find that particular thread so I'm starting this one. Here is Ears. We rescued him (as with all of our rabbits) from miserable homes. Ears was neglected for a whole winter and he contracted frostbite on his little ears and lost them. When we got him the ears were freshly gone so I've never seen the little guy with any ears. We love him very much and I cannot tell you how much he loves to be cuddled and just how soft he is. He is amazingly soft. He's a Velveteen. I go out there and just by holding him I destress. Needless to say he gets held alot.

His ears have healed fine.

Here is our overly huge flemish giant Spongebob. I can't even get him in the whole shot without help and today he wanted to jump out so I just snapped his fat head. You can see by my hand just how big his head alone is. He's a big boy. Both SpongeBob and Ears were rescued from the same home. Neither had straw or anything to keep them warm. It's amazing they survived.
punkeemunkee'smom replied: Crystal-I think we could start a Sumo pet club! Floopy the guniea we just lost was over 6lbs Lets just say his squeaks when the fridge opened rarely went unanswered with a carrot or some fruit! Ears and Spongebob are adorable! I am glad they finally have a home where they are loved! I would like to put their old owners out in the cold with no hay for a night or 2
A&A'smommy replied: awwww how cute!!!
Crystalina replied: I know. This woman was a breeder and here place was so gross. She blamed it all on her DH moving and leaving her with no money and the farm. We rescued these rabbits and helped find homes for her horses, dogs (she bred them also) and some rats she had. I swear it wasn't a month later she called me up and asked if she could have Spongebob back and I told her no and asked why. She told me she "found a man" (her words) and wanted to start breeding again and Spongebob was her best registered male and she needed him. Yea right. I can't believe after we helped her get rid of all those animals it didn't even take her a month to start accumulating more.
mom2my2cuties replied: It REALLY bothers me when people do this. Poor babies.
And it also bothers me that after giving the pet away she wanted him back - after giving your family time to get attached to him. The people who gave us Augie did this except they waited until almost 1 week later when Augie had gotten adjusted, made himself at home, and our family had gotten attached. And I had to tell her I'm sorry but Augie just went through a very rough adjustment and it would be not only cruel to him but to Andy as well because she has come to love him dearly.
CantWait replied: What a sweetheart.
MoonMama replied: Crystal thank you so much for posting that! What a sweetie pie, I just want to hold and cuddle that little guy! :wub:And Spongebob's so arodable. I am so happy you were there to rescue them. Ours was the unwanted bunny, know one wanted and hes such a doll!
My sister named our rabbit Wendell. She was upset that he still didn't have a name when she visited over the weekend.
My3LilMonkeys replied: What cuties they are!!
Brias3 replied: What CUTIES! That's great how you have rescued your beloved pets. What better than giving them a loving home! Both of your bunnies are adorable. Ears looks perfect how he is- almost like he was made to look just like that! (although I feel awful hearing that he had to go through trauma like that to get his sweet look)
MoonMama replied: People like that really anger me!
Nina J replied: Aww, the rabbits are so gorgeous!! I want one.
Crystalina replied: This woman is just horrible. We even got beat up by one of her stallions trying to get him off of someone elses property. She bought two horses and never worked with the younger one and she lives on less then an acre so she found a sweet old lady a few miles away who let her keep her horses there. Well, this woman never went to feed her horses or anything. She asked us to go down and see if we wanted them. We went down and these poor horses had no shelter and were living on a muddy hillside. It was so bad that when they came to the top of the hill to us they kept sliding sideways. THen the old lady came out of her house crying and saying that she's been feeding the horses whatever she can because "the owner" has never showed up since the day she dropped them off. This poor old lady looked like she could barely take care of herself. To make a long story short we loaded the stallion up (after he kicked the ca-ca out of us) and gave him to the Amish. We only hope he was put to work but it wasn't looking good for him. We found a home for the bigger horse and within a month she had him back living on less then an acre in her backyard. She doesn't want to go out and get a job (she's healthy and in her 30's) and she makes her living off of breeding animals. She goes to trade shows. She breeds differant animals for differant times of the year so she has an income all year. She's heartless and I haven't spoken to her since she asked for the rabbits back. I breed yorkies but I only have 2 litters a year (about 6 pups) and my dogs are my pets. I also check where they are going to live before I sell them which is how I met this woman. She answered my add and when I went to check her house I was floored. Then I find that she only wanted my pups to start breeding her own. I would never let any pup I sell live in a place like that.
MoonMama replied: Those poors thing what a horrid horrid women! Mistreatment of animals is my biggest peeve and the quickest way to upset me. Thank goodness you came along and were able to get those poor fur babies away from her. But how heartbreaking that she was and is still able to have a breed these animals! Kuddo's to you for checking out the homes before letting the pups go to them. Yorkies how cute my MIL has one and I adore that dog to no end.
My2Beauties replied: Your bunnies are absolutely precious I have the softest heart when it comes to animals, I'm one of those people that watches that Animal 911 show or Animal Cops whatever it is on the Animal Planet channel about the people they arrest for abusing and neglecting their animals girl and seeing how some people treat their pets makes me just cry. DH thinks I'm loony because I will just sit there and bawl my eyes out over how awful these people are. I don't have any pets right now, mostly because DH is allergic to my favorite - cats I love dogs too but I wanted to wait until we got moved into our own home and stuff before having one, now I'm waiting on Lil baby here to arrive and get a little older so I can even start to deal with a puppy, but honestly I woulnd't mind adopting an older dog as long as the shelter assures me that the dog was raised around children and that if he snapped or acted weird around any kids I could bring him/her back. I feel so bad for what poor Ears had to go through, how awful. That woman needs to have some type of animal control called on her!
Sarah&Mackenzie replied: They are both so cute!! It is great that you rescued them and now they are in a loving home being taken care of properly!!
Crystalina replied: I just love yorkies. They are little but they have very large personalities. Here are some pics of mine.
This is my boy Dillon. He was the reason I got into them. I went to buy him but wasn't really sure because the price tag was so big. When I went to the ladys house he was living outside in a kennel with a bunch of other dogs. He was so tiny. He's only about 3 lbs (he looks big in the pic) but I couldn't leave him there. So we bought him and then went back and bought his girlfriend Daphne (I don't have a current pic of her.). Umm, his haircut...my first attemp at grooming on my own. Yea, that won't be happening again.

Here is Heidi and Lola giving Princess the cat kisses. They are bigger yorkies and are about 7lbs. They are sisters and they always team up to cause trouble.

Lola again, at her usual spot when I'm on the computer. Pay no attention to the dust in my keyboard!

Here are the two boys I just sold. They are so cute! and went to really good homes.

I have 4 all together I just can't seem to get a good pic of Daphne (the mother of the pups) when I bring the camera out she hides.
