My house is filled with smoke

mckayleesmom wrote: I went outside to feed Gunner and came back in and my kitchen was filled with smoke and my microwave was filled with smoke. Russell put a piece of bread in it and turned it on for I don't know how long....

Now my house smells like burnt popcorn. growl.gif

I just sat him down for a talk on how he is not allowed to use the microwave...

coasterqueen replied: I'm telling you Brianne, Russell and Megan need to get together. They could cause MAJOR chaos. laugh.gif rolleyes.gif I am glad I'm not alone in this chaotic world our little ones are leading us into, because some days I swear I spawned a demon. tongue.gif Just the things Megan does on a daily basis.....well....I stop and think "at least I'm not alone". tongue.gif

kit_kats_mom replied: put the mircro on top of the fridge. Not convenient but not going to burn your house down either.

sorry

Kaitlin'smom replied: wacko.gif I still wont let Kaitlin use the microwwave, I just started letting her use the toaster with strick instructions......

so what was he doing with the bread in the microwave?

coasterqueen replied:
You must not know my child, Cary. I don't know about Brianne's but Megan CAN find a way up there. rolleyes.gif I'm half tempted to take the chairs outside so she can't use any of them to climb up to anything. Of course she's gotten creative enough to find other things to use to climb with. rolleyes.gif

mckayleesmom replied:
Exactly.....Russell isn't too bad.....But then again Im comparing him to Mckaylee. He does stuff every now and then....as opposed to when Mckaylee was his age and did it ever 10 minutes. He is alot less stressfull... laugh.gif .

As for the microwave on the fridge.....that is childsplay to my kids....They could get up there in a heartbeat.

I have a shelf in my kitchen that is literally 6 or 7 inches from the cieling and they can get stuff off there.....how you ask?....Its amazing what a child can see....you see a couch cushion....they see a ladder and a road to victory. laugh.gif If it wasn't the couch cushion...it would be whatever else they could find. They will stand on each other if that is what gets the job done.

coasterqueen replied:
OMG! I just spit out my drink at that one. laugh.gif I don't even want to imagine mine doing that. rolling_smile.gif

MommyToAshley replied: Oh gosh... I think you are going to have to put them in a rubber padded room with no markers, no baby powder, no butter, no scissors, no garden borders, and no applicances... LOL!

mckayleesmom replied:
And that wasn't even a joke......I have caught them doing just that

coasterqueen replied:
laugh.gif I guess I have one thing to be thankful about. I don't think Kylie and Megan would be good partners in crime. They do small things together, but for the most part Kylie tattles on Megan in an instant. happy.gif

mckayleesmom replied:
Mckaylee....much to my suprise has become the resident tattle tale.....She doesn't do a whole lot of terrible stuff anymore.....besides cutting her hair.....Now she usually tattles.

She still gets into typical stuff....which is where the climbing comes into play...usually its cookies/ crackers and that sort of stuff.

Kaitlin'smom replied: would they be at all detured if you told them the cookies were made of tufo? or veggies? laugh.gif

mckayleesmom replied:
Are you kidding......out of all the problems I have with them....eating isn't one of them.....They love vegatables and I don't buy tofu, but they have eaten it and like it......I can hardly keep vegetables in the freezer...they will take them and eat them frozen like popcorn.

Broccoli and asparagus is their favorite.

I can't complain in the eating their veggies and just plain eating department.

They will try anything..I can't even think of something they don't like....They like sushi even...ack.

luvmykids replied: My house smells like burnt popcorn too........but it's because I burned the popcorn laugh.gif

mckayleesmom replied:
laugh.gif Good Job!!....I always put mine in for 2 and a half minutes and usually its ok.

bawoodsmall replied: laugh.gif Count my Aiden in. He is just wild, or what do the books say...Determined. I must say though, my Aiden is not a follower. He will definately be the leader. The question is..where will he lead them to??? laugh.gif

Calimama replied:
Seriously. huh.gif rolling_smile.gif

Celestrina replied:
After I read it, I became very thankful Ben is an only child.

My2Beauties replied: ohmy.gif ohmy.gif Girl you better tie a leash on to them.

Kaitlin'smom replied:
laugh.gif okay sorry but I have to laugh laugh.gif so it sounds like they are not afraid of anything.....even food. well at least they are entertaining.

coasterqueen replied: Brianne, I'm starting to think we just need a rubber roomed house with nothing in it for the kids. tongue.gif Last night Megan climed up three shelves high (she used a bunch of toys piled up to do this rolleyes.gif ) to get ahold of her sister's tub that has all her easy bake oven food packets in it. She got them, climbed back down and opened one and started licking it. I was in the kitchen cooking - this happened in less than a minute. She came into the kitchen screaming because the taste was bad. rolleyes.gif Silly kid.

mckayleesmom replied:
LOL...that is something that mine would do.

I tell you what Karen....The only reason I take my kids to Chicfilet is because their play area is sound proof and I can sit outside of it and watch them through the glass.....LOL.....It might not be a padded room in my house, but it works for a couple hours. laugh.gif

coasterqueen replied: That's not fair, Brianne. I don't have a place like that around here. happy.gif

mckayleesmom replied:
Time to move Karen... rolling_smile.gif

redchief replied: Brianne, are do your kitchen outlets have GFI breakers built into them? If so, trip the breaker the microwave is on when not in use... most of those are very difficult for children to reset (not impossible, but very difficult). That is, of course, assuming that the refrigerator or some other important appliance isn't on the outlet circuit.
