My sister witnessed something - so horrible

Well since they have been there my cousin has pretty much been leaving my sister in the hotel room and taking off. But thats another story. Well early this morning, my sister was alone in the room and she heard a baby crying. She peeked out the window and didn't see anything. So she layed back down. Then she thought she heard a gun shot. She waited and then heard a baby crying again. So she walked outside and looked over the balcony of the hotel. She sees a little girl about 2 crying and all by herself and saying something about her mommy. My sister tells her to stay right there and she is coming down. Don't be afraid. When she gets down there my sister notices the mom further away laying in the street. When my sister runs over she notices that half the ladys head is exposed like she has been scalped and its obvious that her arms and legs are broken, but she is alive and begging my sister not to let her die. My sister said that she is pretty sure someone ran her over with a car. Then the little girl starts talking about her baby brother. And while trying to flag down someone to help (the hotel is on a main highway) and trying to find a phone my sister is searching the parking lot trying to find a baby. Nobody would stop to help, my sister was all by herself trying to comfort this lady and her little girl..and look for a baby at the same time. Well the lady was able to reach in her pocket and pull out her cell phone out of her pocket and give it to my sister. She also pulled something else out of her pocket...a badge...shes an off duty police officer. And while she is reaching for this stuff she moves a little and my sister notices something else...she is pregnant....the little brother the little girl is worried about is in her moms stomach....then my sister notices the bullet hole in the ladys stomach....thats the gunshot she heard. So not only did someone run this poor lady over in front of her little girl, she is pregnant and has been shot in the stomach. By the time the cops got there it had been about 15 minutes and can you believe that out of a hotel full of people and cars passing by,,,not one person besides my sister went out to help this lady. The cop told my sister that she really saved this womens life. Thats all the information I have right now about it,,my little sister is trying to get ahold of the hospital to see if the lady and her baby are alright, but she can't get through. So now my brother in law,,who is a cop is seeing if he can pull some strings to find anything out.
Isn't that horrible?
~CrazieMama~ replied: omg, that is the worst thing I have ever read.  I am so in tears right now. That is simply awful!!!!  I don't understand what is wrong with people!!!!!  I do hope that woman and her baby are alright. I will keep her in my prayers.
mckayleesmom replied: Im am praying to god that baby and mom are alright. Im especially praying for that 2 year old little girl because she obviously knew that something bad happened to her mommy and her little brother in her mommys belly, so she is going to have these memories. I would never want Mckaylee to witness something like that. I also have to add that my sister is awfully gutsy because she is only 19, 5ft1 and maybe 90lbs and she heard gunshots and still went out there. Imagine how many strong men probably passed her trying to get help for this lady and not one person stopped. She risked her own safety to help this little girl and her mommy. It makes me sick that a girl that tiny and little risked herself and a grown man or anyone for that matter didn't even think twice before passing her up. Don't get me wrong,,,my little sister can kick some rear if necessary, but shes no match for a gun.

I hope the mother and baby are alright...and that poor little girl saw something really horrible that she probably will not be able to forget! let us know if they find out something!!! And oh yeah your sister is a Hero!!!!!!

Please let us know if you hear anymomre and tell your sister I think she did a very brave thing! I think the reason a lot of people didn't want to help (not excusing them) is because they were probably affraid they were going to get shot as well!

Is yoru sister going to be recognized? She should be. She should get a medal or something from the mayor. That was a very brave and honorable thing she did...keep us updated!

Give your sister extra hugs from Ali and I...she can use some! Hopefully, she will go and talk to someone about it so she can sort her feelings as well.
She is a hero!! AND I hope the mom and baby live to thank her some day!!!

I cant believe people dont stop, I would have, I mgiht have been scared but that poor little girl, to see such a terribel thing happen to her mommy and the concern she showed for her unborn little brother was incredible. Maddie&EthansMom replied: I am just in complete shock. That is such a horrible thing to witness. I wish she could have seen the guy who did it. But, if the lady lives, he will be one dead man. What a sad situation for that little girl. Where was the baby that was crying?

I hope that God lets her and the baby survive such a tragedy so that they can get the evil man who did that and prosecute him to the fullest extent!!! I will be praying for them all!!
