My son - I am so proud of him

My son told me he and his friends were going trick or treating. Well, I said uh.. a bunch of 15 yr olds (there would be 7-10 of them, since we attract alllll the kids tongue.gif ) . I laid down the law, if everyone did not costumes they were NOT to go and they were not to be greedy, rude or mean. AND if I even heard a suggestion that there were eggs or shaving cream etc. and it wasn't eliminated immediately; Billy would be grounded for a very long time and his friends would not be visiting here for even longer. (They like to come her since I feed them and 'shelter' them biggrin.gif ) So someone in town mentioned that "Scott had eggs" (it is a small town) I called my sons' cell and here is the convo:

ME: Scott has eggs
SON: No he doesn't --Hey Scott you have eggs???
ME: If he does and he brings them here, I will store them and give them to his parents, but if says he doesn't have them, BUT he does ... well you know.... it won't be good.
SON: Ok bye
1 minute later... phone rings
SON: Scott is on his way there with eggs.
3 minutes later
Scott shows up
SCOTT: Here, but I did not bring them, I did throw one, and Nate brought them, and I am so sorry, won't ever happen again.

So they brought me the 11 eggs and say there was only one thrown, that did not cause any property damage.

On top of that, when they went house to house, they only used two bags, because they didn't 'need' alot of candy and only at one house did they ALL take a treat. And that house gave out cans of soda and was another mom. They were all in my house by 7:30 playing video games and they had started when it was dark. I am very proud that my son stood up to his friend so they did not cause damage AND that they all were polite teens. wub.gif (I received calls)

When things like that happen it makes the trust go even deeper

kristy-n-chad replied: That sounds like one great kid you have there! I hope my boys turn out like that!

redplaydoh replied: I hope (and know you did) tell Scott how proud you were of him. I have to know you did because otherwise you wouldn't have such a wonderful son. WTG for raising him with the skills that make him what he is today!!!

redchief replied: I'd have LOVED to hear the convo Billy and Scott had after he hung up the first time... In my silly mind it went something like this:

Billy: Whew! I don't know how she does that.
Scott: Dude, your mom's gonna tell my mom isn't she?
Billy: I dunno. She might.
Scott: What if I tell her they aren't mine?
Billy: Can't hurt. Who you gonna blame 'em on... Not me!
Scott: I dunno either. Maybe Nate. Your mom know Nate's mom?
Billy: I don't think so. Somebody already told you threw one, man.
Scott: What she say?
Billy: She said if we bring her the eggs, she'll give 'em to your mom and won't say nothing else.
Scott: What if we don't give them up?
Billy: She'll probly tell, and I'll get grounded.
Scott: You think she'll be cool if I jus' give them to her?
Billy: She said she would.
Scott: 'Kay, I'll give 'em to her, but I'm tellin' her Nate brought them. My mom will kill me.
Billy: Okay.
Scott: Your mom have eyes in the sidewalks or something?
Billy (looking appropriately dejected shrugs his shoulders): I dunno. Maybe.

amymom replied: OMG Ed you are so funny!!! Yeah it could have gone something like that. But I talked to Nate and he told me they were his, he took them from his mom's fridge. She hadn't noticed ohmy.gif Shoot I counted my eggs yesterday morning and again after the kids left.

Thanks everyone!!! Yeah he is a good kid.
