My washing machine just busted...

booey2 wrote: AGH!!!! growl.gif growl.gif DH is the laundry man love2.gif in this house but I am feeling his pain as the washing machine drive just broke. We have a direct drive - no belts and it looks like it is missing 3 of the gears/teeth needed to make the drive work. So looks like we are going washing machine shopping. I think ours is only about 7 or 8 years old. Not good. He is more upset then me. We are going to look at front loaders, way more water/energy efficient. This really wasn't in our budget. AGH!!!!!!

I know it is not the end of the world and there are worse things I could be upset about but it really sucks when you have a full load of towels and bathing suits in it full of water. Oh well at least it is not our clothes.

grandma replied: It's not the end of the world, but it isn't a good thing either. Or maybe it is, now you'll get a new washer. hug.gif

3xsthefun replied: Sorry your washing machine broke. That really stinks! I've been there myself too.

Good luck shopping for a new one and hope you find one you really like!

:.Mrs_Mommy.: replied: Good Luck! I'm sorry. hug.gif

booey2 replied: Thanks,

Well it looks like BIL has convinced hubby to just repair it, so hubby is now looking for a repair place open today on a holiday here. Oh well. I just want him happy and my clothes washed. LOL

grandma replied:
Good for him, if it can be fixed, why spend the money on a new one. I love to use stuff until it refuses cpr!

booey2 replied: Okay all is well, only cost us $124, it was the drive for the machine, just what we thought it was. The repair guy said to let the machine rest for about 1 hour between loads beacuse it is not a commercial washer, DH just does load after load, no rest for the machine. The repairman said if you didn't let it rest you could burn out your motor. Oh well, it is up to DH now.

Have a great day everyone.

CantWait replied: hug.gif That sucks. Sorry Terri.

Maddie&EthansMom replied: Oh good!! So glad you didn't have to replace the whole machine!!!! hug.gif

sparkys2boys replied: Sorry your not having a good day hug.gif

Calimama replied: They always break at the WORST times don't they? I'm glad they can repair it. Hopefully it'll be running again soon!

A&A'smommy replied: ick that SUCKS!!! I'm sorry!!! hug.gif hug.gif
