Need GL vibes this morning...PLEASE

I'll update you after the meeting, it's not til 10 am. I'm SO NERVOUS. Why? It's been a few years since I've done this side of the political spectrum and I studied all the laws,rules and regulations so I'm prepared, but the guy sort of intimidates me. I don't know why.

DH said the same thing but for some reason my confidence goes down the drain when someone is willing to pay me a huge chunk of money for basically doing nothing. I think anyone could do what I'm going to do for them and I'm sure there are a ton of people who'd do it for less. So my confidence escapes me when I can't figure out why someone is willing to pay so much. I guess that's why big companies throw away cash.

Exactly what I was going to say, and he already said he is willing to pay it so if he doesn't bring it up say something like "I usually ask for 50% of the fee up front" or whatever you were planning on ... or do you have any kind of contract drawn up? If so, you could offer to go over it with him and have the payment terms in it.

The guy did not hand me a check today, but is mailing it to me w/in the next week or two when he mails me all the files. So that's good. At least I don't have to wait til the end of the year for 1/2 of it and get 1/2 now.

Now, my van has to hold up til then. My water pump is going and my back brakes need replaced really bad. So I hope things hold up til I get the check.

BTW, one of the good things is I think I can charge double my asking fee now next year because there is more to their committee reporting than I thought. YIPPEE!!!! Still not a lot of work, but still worth a double fee.
