Need Some prayers for Mckaylee

mckayleesmom wrote: Last night I let her and Russell sleep in the living room on their sleeping bags while they watched a movie. I got up around midnight and noticed that she took 2 kitchen chairs and pushed them together and layed accross them to sleep on. I moved her back onto the floor on her sleeping bag.I put the chairs back in the kitchen and went to bed. At 3 in the morning I heard a blood curdling screem come from the living room. I could hear her running to my room and I was trying to manuver over dogs and stuff to get to her. As soon as I flipped on the light I knew exactly what she did...She pushed those chairs back together after I moved her and went back to sleep on them...she rolled over and went mouth first into the brick fireplace...The fireplace and her sleeping on those chairs is why I moved her..I saw the danger..Just from the run to my room she had probably lost 1/2 cup of blood. There was blood everywhere. I took her into my bathroom and we went through about 5 paper towels and the bleeding wasn't letting up..I could see that she cut the outside of her chin, right below her lip, the inside of her bottom lip was split and stitches were questionable....I also knew she had a cut on her gum somewhere under her top lip, but it wouldn't stop bleeding long enough for me to see how bad it was. Her nose was bleeding too, but not as bad as her mouth. When she fell she also peed her pants and all over the new throw blanket she was so excited I bought her. Leithan helped me get her dressed and off to the Er we went. She ended up not needing stitches...although only because the doctor didn't like to give stitches on lips because he said they usually break open or get infected..The cut under her top lip should heal fine...she actually skinned that and took a huge chunk of skin off...part of which is hanging over the top of her teeth. I'm hoping the top of her tooth isn't chipped, but until that skin falls off I can't see. I don't think it is though. He said that when it scabs over it will pull the gap in the lip closed..She looks horrible. She looks like someone smacked her in the face with a bat.

I have been giving her tylonol for the pain and swelling and we are staying away from any salt or acidy stuff. Today I took them to the park and she played great, but by the time we shopped for dinner and headed home she could hardly talk. We were walking in the Walmart parking lot and this lady ran up and asked what happened to her...Turns out it is her Drama teacher and she noticed Mckaylee's mouth from accross the parking lot.. blush.gif She asked Mckaylee "what is the rule in class"? and McKaylee responded with "only butts are for chairs"... rolling_smile.gif

Please pray that she heals fast and that tooth under isn't chipped...I won't be able to tell for a week or so. Her mouth is also still bleeding pretty regularly although not dripping...so we need it to stop already.

This week was also picture day at school rolleyes.gif Oh well.

jcc64 replied: How traumatic, Brianne! I can't imagine waking up to that! Fireplaces and faces are a bad combination. My ds fell on the corner of my hearth when he was a toddler and would up with 18 stitches just below his eye. He has a decent sized scar to this day, though now I can't imagine him any other way.
I hope she heals quickly, the poor little thing. hug.gif

boyohboyohboy replied: I think if she keeps bleeding I would have her seen by her ped.
I hope she feels better soon, I am sure that feels just horrible like that.

mckayleesmom replied:
Well...it has let up alot and the doctor said it would bleed..mainly because it is trying to heal and cracking back open when she moves her mouth...If it is gets bad I will take her in, but right now it isn't constant, mainly after she eats.

mckayleesmom replied:
Ouch...Russell has a scar from a swing set corner that hit him in the eye when he was about 1 and a half...It was the day we were moving from Ft. Knox and it looks like a little horse shoe scar by his eye...

When Colt was about two, he did a face plant on the patio. He was trying to see what DH was doing (he was grilling, thank GOD Colt missed the grill when he fell!) and climbed onto a chair that tipped over. His mouth was a bloody mess for about a week and eating anything made it crack open and bleed again. But he did heal up just fine, and shockingly didn't damage his teeth. She'll be just fine hug.gif hug.gif

punkeemunkee'smom replied: ohmy.gif Poor baby! OMG I bet you were freaking out! We will be praying for her hug.gif

MommyToAshley replied: Oh how aweful. Poor girl. I can imagine how much that scared you. I hope she heals quickly. hug.gif hug.gif Give her and extra hug -- all the way from Ohio. hug.gif hug.gif

mckayleesmom replied: Thanks everyone. She is doing much better and was able to brush her teeth a little today, which made us be able to tell that her tooth was NOT CHIPPED thank goodness. I was really worried because a piece of skin was hanging over the top of her two top front teeth and I couldn't tell if they were chipped in the corner or not.

Also...God must have saw Mckaylee fall and had the school switch picture day to the 26th.. laugh.gif
