Need help quick...

MommyToAshley wrote: I got pork chops out of the freezer to make tonight and I don't have any shake 'n bake. blush.gif LOL! Anyone have a quick and easy recipe for pork chops?

Josie83 replied: When we make them we just grill them and then for the last few minutes put oregano on the top. then we serve them with apple sauce and whatever else you have with them . . . hope that helps! If you have no oregano, rosemary would probably be quite nice too wink.gif smile.gif yummy.gif xx

gr33n3y3z replied: lemon pepper
rosemary salt and pepper
Nature seasoning

MommyToAshley replied: thumb.gif Thanks!

akbutterfly83 replied: I don't know if you like them this way, but my grandma useto pan fry them..... and add garlic powder or salt and onion powder or salt..... Then we would eat them with mac-n-cheese, au gratin potatos, or rice with apple sauce and green beens or corn....

Jamison'smama replied: I'm certain you have already eaten but I cover mine with cream of mushroom (or whatever cream soup) and bake them. My DH likes them moist and I have not perfected the art of pan cooking them without over cooking. My mother lightly pan cooks them then adds a little water and steams them the rest of the way.

I have some chops in my freezer so I need to try something--what did you end up doing?

MommyToAshley replied:
I do the same thing with chicken... add the cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, and then top with either stuffing or flavored cracker crumbs... YUM! yummy.gif

I never thought of using cream of mushroom soup with pork chops... do you add water or milk or anything or use it concentrated? What temp and how long do you cook it?

I like all of your ideas. When I went to bake the chops, they were still frozen in the middle so I decided to put them back in the fridge and let them thaw for tomorrow. I had to come up with somethign quick so we ended up having breakfast..... eggs, hashbrowns, and veggies. LOL! rolling_smile.gif

Mommy2BAK replied: I KNOW you must have already eaten seeing how this post was from yesterday. But I have to add my country girl spin on things, LOL. You could fry 'em up, put them in raw eggs, then in flour and fry them up! yummy.gif

Jamison'smama replied:
I just use the soup concentrated--I cook it at about 350 for..oh gosh it's been a while...maybe 30+ minutes depending on how thick the chops are--I usually cut into it and by the time I am finished--they are all cut in half dry.gif .

You could do the pork chops exactly the way you do your chicken ---with stuffing etc. I bet they would be excellent.

I love breakfast for dinner--that is always a quick fix but a messy clean up. I try to keep frozen homemade waffles in the freezer to cook with eggs on those quick nights--ever make a waffle sandwich--eggs, turkey bacon (or the real stuff) and even cheese? Yummmmy.

ferocity302 replied: Here is a recipe that my dad gave me. My family loves it!

6 pork chops
1 tsp. salt
3/4 c. uncooked rice
1/2-1 pkg. taco seasoning mix
1 can tomato sauce
1 1/2 c. water
1/2 c. shredded cheddar cheese
1 med. green pepper, cut into rings

Brown pork chops. Arrange in 9"x13"x2" baking dish. Season with salt. Sprinkle rice around chops. Combine taco seasoning mix, tomato sauce and water; pour mixture over chops and rice. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/4 hours. Remove from oven, sprinkle with cheese and arrange peppers over chops. Cover and cook until cheese melts.

I collect recipes so any time you need something let me know..... I might have it. LOL

Hillbilly Housewife replied: So....have you eaten yet?

Here's another take:

I put some garlic cloves and small pieces of apple in with the pork chops. I put it on low, with a top on the pan to let it steam as well. When they're almost cooked, I sprinkle brown sugar on the pork chops (actually, I more than srpinkle - i just about dump the whole bag on them... lol Probably about 1 teaspoon on each 4 - 5 inch pork chop)

I usually serve it with rice and steamed veggies

Yum!

JAYMESMOM replied: If I don't bake or grill them. I dip them in egg and coat them with bread crumbs or flour and fry them.

YUMMY!!!!
