Need prayers for DH

He walked 2 1/2 hours to his mothers (he lost his car keys the night before) and opened the phone book as soon as he got there, called his insurance company and went off to rehab an hour away. Im still mad at him, but at the same time im proud that he is doing this all on his own without anyone telling him to. Its the first time he has actually taken action instead of just talking about it. I hope it works for him, for his sake, our sake, and the sake of our kids. His uncle went to this same rehab and it worked great for him. Please everyone pray for him that he can be strong and get through this and stick with it.

I think he made the best decision and the best thing about it is he made it on his own!!! That is a great sign. You will get thru this...we are here for you.

I was raised and married an acholic.. and I will pray for him and you. But I wanted to mention to you that they have Al-anon.. it's for wife's parents children etc of acholics.. they have a book too. It really helped me realize alot of things in my life.. how I do enable and make excuses.. how I myself fall for the honeymoon stage etc..

It is so hard to say and no the person you love most has a problem...that your love can't solve.. Please do for your self too. It is great to go and just listen to other stories even if you don't talk..

You are a beautiful girl..and how are soo sweet. I hope this works out the way you want it too.

redchief replied: I often hear that people with addictions have to hit bottom before they can start back up. It sounds like he found the bottom of his hole and is ready to begin the long healing process. Our prayers go out to you and positive thoughts for him and you to have strength during his recovery.

TeagansMom609 replied: Thank everyone for your support. I really need it. He called me earlier and told me a counselor will be calling me tommorrow to discuss his treatment with me. Although he did mention that they want him to be in treatment long term. Possibly having to go to Florida. Thats far, far away. Well, I guess I will see whats going on tommorrow.

mammag replied: My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I also know you are going through since my dad is an alcoholic. He had to go into rehab when I was about 12 but he ended up walking out but didn't drink again for 10 years. I hope he makes it through and is able to deal with his disease. I really do hope things work out for you and your little ones.
