New Years Resolutions
coasterqueen wrote: Anyone else make their New Years resolutions yet?
I know after April one of mine will be to try to lose all this extra weight by the end of the year but I know that probably won't happen so I won't make it just yet.
DH and I are making one very important one though. We are going to try not to spend over our limits in 2005 hoping to slowly dig ourselves out of debt. It's going to take an eternity to do so but gotta start somewhere. So in order for this goal not to feel like it's never going to happen we are making small goals. We are giving ourselves 3 months (Jan-Mar) to not spend a penny over what our CASH flow is and go from there. If we make it through the 1st three months we'll go on to the next 3 months, etc. So I hope it works. It's going to be tough because DH's insurance went from basically free to being over $200+ a month now plus we have deductibles we never had before. This baby won't be born for free like Kylie was. And we have some things we need to by for the baby, decorate the nursery etc that will all have to be done with cash. Oh does it seem impossible but I hope we can do it. I know DH can...I'm the one I'm worried about.
This year was the first year I kept a resolution and that was to get down to 125 to 130 pounds by the time I ttc this baby and I did. I got to 129.5 pounds so I did it! If I can do that then I can keep this other one right?
~Roo'sMama~ replied: Um, mine would be to start cleaning. My current method is to wait until is a disaster area and then clean for a couple days to get it in order again, and then and then sit around and wonder why it's getting dirty again. Or else Dh gets fed up and starts doing the dishes, which is my least favorite part, and then I feel guilty.

Our biggest one is the same as yours Karen. We are going to stop spending what we don't have and start paying off our debt. We want to be able to buy a new house is 7 years so we are going to start working towards that.
I also want to get myself in shape. I don't mean losing weight-I'm very slim, but I don't ever exercise so I'm the biggest weakling ever. I want to get myself healthy.
And lets see-I'll give myself one more. I want to get my house decluttered and organized. It wouldn't be so messy all the time if we didn't have so much junk lying around.
Ok-these are all managable so we'll see how it goes.
Kaitlin'smom replied: Well I to want to be better about my budget and pay some things off, I wont be able to start until Feb with a new budget plan since we have insurance going up and adding more life insurance, and her 529 account so once I see all that in Jan I can devise a plan.
I also want to loose weight my over all gol is 25-30lbs but I will start with 10lbs and go from there so that means watching what I eat better and getting back to the gym.
I also want to earn more money, which should not be hard since I am in controll of my commission checks, I need to be movidated, I am working on things to help with that and the more i get out of the commission the more extra I will have to either pay off bill or spend.
oh and one more for me to clean and re-pain our bedroom..its a MESS and now that christmas is over and her birthday is about done I can start.
