My name is Geoff and I am 19, found out that my girlfriend was pregnant about 2 weeks ago. As of right now she is 6 weeks 2 days into her pregnancy. She is expected to have our baby on January 16th.(I didn't know which forum to put this in. Maybe the site admins can add a January-April 07 forum?) We had our first appointment with our actual doctor yesterday. It was to soon to try and hear the baby but we did get to get an ultrasound. The heart is beatin away at 116bpm. Very cool and a huge relief to see that. We got a bunch of pictures printed out yesterday and a video we bring back each time so they can add onto it. I thought that was a really cool idea for the parents, same with the children when they are old enough to watch it.

I know I am young but, I am extremely excited. It came by surprise but, I still was wanting a kid of my own. I'm going to be a daddy!! Around 6 more weeks and they can tell us boy or girl! Glad I am having the baby with my girlfriend though, I love her so much and can't imagine being with anyone else or not having her at all.

Geoff replied: We might be able to find out the sex this Thursday at our doctors appointment. There doing some screening as well as another ultrasound. If not this appointment then definitely next time!

12 weeks is pretty early to tell the baby's sex. usually they can't tell until after 15 weeks or so. But good luck at your appointment!

Geoff replied: Our doctor said 12 weeks 4 days I think it was. Maybe a couple more days. But we probably won't find out for a few more weeks atleast i'm thinking.
