New pregnant lady here

LootingSawyer wrote: Hi I'm new. My name is Tavia and my boyfreind Sawyer and I are about 10 weeks pregnant and we just found out. I went to my first appointment today. We are scared because we really never expected this ..it was a bit of a shock actually. He wants a boy so naturally i want a girl. Anybody know any good places to shop for maternity clothing? Does anybody know when the first ultrasound and sex check is? I forgot to ask.

MommyToAshley replied: Hello wavey.gif and Welcome!

Congrats on your PG!!! I am sure once the shock wears off, you'll really start to get excited about the PG.

As for maternity clothes,

If you want to shop online, there's Amazon
or
Babystyle

But honestly, I wouldn't spend a ton on maternity clothes. I bought a few pair for work and going out, but around the house I wore my hubby's sweats and those stretchy pants until they just fit wouldn't any more. rolling_smile.gif

Welcome again! Looking forward to getting to know you!

Mommy2BAK replied: Hi Tavia! wavey.gif

I am Tamara mother to Blakely Allison (4 months) and wife to John!

Nice to meet you!

I think the ultrasound to find out of the sex is around 20 weeks or 5 months.
And about the maternity clothing, I was very fortunate that where I live there is a very fashionable maternity store called Devine 9. But Otherwise I also would look at motherhood. Good Luck

A&A'smommy replied: Welcome and congratulations!

My name is Jessica I'm 19 years old, my husband is 22 and we are first time parents to 12month old Alyssa Faith. I know what you mean about not expecting this Alyssa was a surprise too.
I bought all my maternity clothes at motherhood in the mall I LOVED that place I spent well over 400 dollars on clothes BUT I went out a LOT (except at the end). Around the house I also wore my husbands pajama pants (from old navy) and tshirts that were mine I LOVE big tshirts.
I got my first u/s at 12wks, I heard the heartbeat and saw the baby, it was a vaginal u/s too which it was uncomfortable but seeing my baby was the best thing I had EVER seen wub.gif bawling.gif . I think we found out the sex at around 17wks and then for sure at around 22wks.
Good luck and congratulations!

loveydad replied: Holy cow sweet thing! Congratulations! I can't believe this - I thought you were on the pill or something? (sorry to be ..well blunt). Last I talked to sawyer he was adament that you were having no kids (at least by him LOL) until you guys had moved into a house and got a new car! Wow. I'll hope for pink for you. How's the pregnancy going? Any morning sickness just yet? Maybe you'll be luckily- one of my exes never had morning sickness. (course she was sick all the time anyway, sick of me!) ha. I'm sick with the flu today.

Give me a call! Henry misses you wub.gif (my son has the biggest crush on this chick! lol)

Nicole replied: hI AND WELCOME! They sould do your ultra sound at around 18 to 20 weeks! unless your doc wants one done before that.
Old navy has good Maternity colthes!

Josie83 replied: I already replied to this in another thread but welcome again. My daughter was a surprise as well, once we got used to the idea though we were soe xcited! By the way, how do you and Vig/Loveydad know each other? xx

3xsthefun replied: Hello and Welcome! wavey.gif

loveydad replied: Just so y'all know, this is not my icky ex who deserted her twins. This is a different girl. She and my ex are good freinds and I met her through him. She lived with us for a while. She's a very sweet girl and knows about parenting club because I told her over the phone 2 months ago that I was on it. (concidence! Tavia must have been a popular name, i know three people with that name Octaiva, Tavia, and Taiva)

Just clearing that up!!!

Congrats on the wedding too!

Josie83 replied:
I did wonder, because I thort your ex was called Tav - thought that would all have been a coincidence! Thanks for clearing it up Vig xx

booey2 replied: Hello and welcome this is one great place for advice, support and comfort. I am Terri, mom to Matthew - 6 and Thomas - 3. You have already been given some great advice. My philosophy on life is that the powers to be can only give you what you can handle. So this happened for a reason. You will handle this too. Congrats on the little bundle on the way and on your upcoming marriage.
