My Dad and Step Mother are supposed to come down for Sophia's bday Friday, but might not come now. I'm moving to Colorado where all we have to worry about are avalanches.

I'm so sorry!! In VA we got about 12 inches of rain with in a few hours yesterday from this tropical storm...everyone was stuck yesterday at work.

I always wonder why people live in areas like this though, . In our area flooding is a huge problem. Every year it seems like areas get flooded and homes get damaged beyong repair and they have to rebuilt. Every year these people rebuild. I'm thinking why don't they just move somewhere where they don't have to rebuild every year or be threatened with the possibility?

That would be me after one year in areas like this, lol. I'd go through it once and say "NEVER AGAIN", see ya, I'm gone. LOL.

Sorry, didn't mean that towards you . I know where you live things like that don't happen often, but in other areas of FL it does, doesn't it? Or at least that's what I thought. LOL. In areas where it's RARE that these events occur I'd live there too . I just wouldn't live in the areas where they have to worry about them every year, kwim?

kit_kats_mom replied: I know Amy & could the timing be any worse? With the girls birthdays coming up, it's just too much. We are going to Tallahassee on Thursday for the long weekend to celebrate K's birthday with family. I swear if I have to cut my trip short to come home, board up, turn off the power, bring in patio furniture etc....well, I may just get really ticked off.

If it does come towards you guys & you are going to have any long lasting power outages again, feel free to call me. We have no problem opening our home to people in need especially if I'd finally get to meet that sweet little girl of yours see...I have ultierior motives.

However, our house isn't set up for pets but if your MIL or a friend could take care of them, you and your family, are welcome anytime.

Good luck and lets hope it just goes to South America or something.

ps- we are going to be in FL next week on vacation. We port in cape canaveral and miami.

momof2girls replied: I am another crazy person in FL, I have to say I live here because I love the ocean and we really have not had it so bad in years, but everytime once comes close I ponder the idea of moving, but there is some type of bad weather it seems everywhere, and up north in Mi when I lived there the snow and ice was awful getting to work in that was unreal, so not sure what is worse!!!

I hope it does not hit land.......

Mommieto2Girls replied: Awe man, these hurricanes suck, lol I live in Moore Have, on the west side of Lake Okeechobee. We got VERY lucky that Charley missed us(it was supposed to go right over us, turned at the last minute... literally). I think we aren't gonna get so lucky this time though. To make matters worse, we live in a wooden house and still haven't gotten insurance on the house yet. I sure hope it misses us again.
