Now I've seen everything

There are even docks set up so people can check to see if the electronics work. A woman bought a heated mattress pad yesterday and tried returning today, saying it didn't work. She had a huge tantrum when we explained it was non-returnable. Even the manager got involved. She still didn't like what she was hearing, so she threw the empty box at the cashier!
MoonMama replied: Holy moly!
A&A'smommy replied: thats crazy!!!!!!
AlexsPajamaMama replied: oh my! the nerve of some ppl! very adult like if you ask me!! honestly though it sounds like something my mil would do she is super rude in stores!
msoulz replied: Don't you love people who think the rules are for everybody else??
stella6979 replied: Ya, when I was 17 and working at CompUSA there was a man who came in and wanted to return a calculator that he'd purchased......a year ago. I told him the policy and he threw it at me as well.
Kentuckychick replied: Yeah... and I understand the policy (and I bet I know the store you're refering to... those signs need to be WAY bigger)... but seriously, if I bought a product that didn't work and couldn't return it -- I'd be totally livid too. So you gotta understand a little of where she's coming from.
Did the manager or cashier even attempt to explain to her that it might be best to try to return it THROUGH the company. I mean if she had literally just bought the product then the company would probably be willing to work with her.
I don't know... I guess having worked retail I just always try to see it from both points of view. She may well have seen the signs and known but she may also have hoped that the store would do the bigger man thing and just exchange the product.
She didn't have to get so nasty about it though.
3xsthefun replied: That is just really crazy!
sparkys2boys replied: Rude.. geesh some people huh
jacobsmama replied: Wow!! That is mean
gr33n3y3z replied: At least your store set up docks for ppl. to check there stuff thats more then what most stores do when going out of business
mammag replied: I think the store did their job with signs and a dock to check things out. If she didn't want to bother testing it then it's her loss. The fact that she would get so irate as to throw the box at the cashier just shows what a fool she is. There is never any call to get physical with a person who is just doing their job!
Kaitlin'smom replied: okay so was she tring to return and EMPTY box??
Celestrina replied:
She had taken the item out of the box to show the cashier.
Calimama replied: Wow, people are becoming ruder and ruder.
holley79 replied: Do you work at Linens and Things?
Celestrina replied: Yep.
