OCD

A&A'smommy wrote: Ok is anyone else OCD about certain things in particular?? I'm NOT OCD about everything but some things if they aren't done right I get REALLY frustrated. rolleyes.gif What are you guys OCD about?

Kaitlin'smom replied: the shower curtian, I get mad at DH if he forgets to pull it back across after he showers. I dont know why it bothers me so now, never used to. I dunno if I have more let me think about that

cameragirl21 replied: Well, ever since my himmy got out on her own...the door literally opened itself and shut itself behind her...I am OCD about checking all the doors to the house (there are 4 of them that lead outside) at least twice before going to sleep or leaving the house...sometimes I'll go back inside to check them again. rolleyes.gif Oddly enough, though, this morning, as I was putting the recycling out on the curb, a car pulled up and asked me if I'd seen their puppy...they lost their Jack Russell sad.gif so I told them I'd look and took their number so I could call if I find him...it occurred to me how easily that could have been me if my himalayan had not stayed in the yard when she got out or God forbid, if my kitten had followed her out the door.
I also can't stand when there are "eye boogers" in my kitten's eyes...Persians are prone to runny eyes so I always clean her eyes.
I'm sure there's more but that's all I can think of now.

A&A'smommy replied: ok well here are mine

the towels have to be folded JUST right with the tag tucked
the tops to the bottle HAVE to be the right color
and stuff in my house has to be put in the right spot it doesn't always have to be neat but it does have to be in the right spot.

my best friend makes fun of me but seriously it kinda hurts my feelings she tells me that I'm NOT OCD and no one is going to see the towels rolleyes.gif I can't help it. happy.gif

ZandersMama replied: checking on the kids. since ive been living alone with the kids im checking them 2 or 3 times before i go to sleep, and at least twice through the nite

mckayleesmom replied: 2 things that I can think of

Matching...I hate when peoples clothes don't match...It took me 5 hours to find navy blue mary janes for mckaylee's uniform and searching everywhere...Her uniform is navy blue....most of the other kids wear black and it drives me batty. I did finally relent the other day and let her get some white shoes with teal on them to wear to school... laugh.gif

Being on time....I HATE being late...I'm always early...Dh is always late and it drives me insane.

A&A'smommy replied:
I hate being late too I'm VERY VERY OCD about that one and that comes from my parents ALWAYS being late it drove me crazy!!!

Kaitlin'smom replied:
Oh I HATE being late also, I always try and be early if I am late its usually cause DH is with me wacko.gif

Our Lil' Family replied: I'm the same with towels Jess, DH folds them wrong and I go back every time to refold them.
Same with making the bed, has to be pulled tight.
Shoes have to be sitting correctly, L on the L, R on the R and touching.
Utensil drawer has to be perfect, spoons in one another, forks too.

There are many I'll have to think of the others.

Boo&BugsMom replied: I just like everything to be put away and clean. I hate clutter. I don't know if it's because I'm chlosterphobic (sp?) or what...perhaps makes me feel like I'm in a smaller space??? unsure.gif If I'm in someone's elses house though it doesn't matter to me, I'm just OCD about my own home.

MommyToAshley replied:
That's me. I still check on Ashley several times through the night and even more often if I hear a sound.

I also hate being late, and if we are late it is usually because of DH. I don't know why men don't seem to care as much about being late.

MoonMama replied: wavey.gif I'm REALLY OCD!!!! About more things then I can count. blush.gif Its rubbing off on Brae BIG time! blush.gif

moped replied: I am not OCD about much at all......BUT I like to have the dishwasher loaded properly to ensure the maximum load! tongue.gif

A&A'smommy replied: OHHH I thought of another while I was mopping rolleyes.gif

The mop has to be cleaned before and after with bleach and I mop with boiling hot water (literally i boil water before I mop). I also usually mop with bleach and some mopping stuff (can't remember the name of it) but this time i tried lysol cleaner (i'm trying to cut down on my useage of bleach) and I still feel like I should have used bleach rolleyes.gif also every time I vacumn I have to vacumn the couch, chair, behind them and behind the tv stand or drives me crazy to think what might be back there (and I vacumn about every 2 days). I could actually name more but I have to go finish cleaning my bathroom and change Autumns sheets (which I do every two days unless she has an a leak issue which I change it after I discover the leakage and change her)

danahas4monkeys replied: Cabinet doors HAVE to be shut it makes me want to growl.gif if someone leaves a cabinet door open.

Doors I keep all doors to the outside locked at all times I actually lock them without noticing I've done it like its one movement open and lock shut and lock. My whole family laughs at me they all say "you afraid someones gonna get you" we/they have noticed its worse if I am nervous.

I can't touch grass with my bare feet.

My food can't touch.

wacko.gif I have alot I am totally neurotic!

moped replied: Any of you OCD people want to come clean my house? tongue.gif

A&A'smommy replied:
rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif

noooooo.gif I hate to clean but I can't live in a dirty house!

ma2many replied: When i back out of my driveway i always have this weirf feeling like I'm going to run over one of my kids. At times I have even gotten out of the car to check.

My oldest has some OCD tendencies when it comes to small messes, but I attribute that to me always having them pick up after themselves.

AlexsPajamaMama replied: The wash clothes have to be stacked all going the same way with tags tucked in
I wipe the counters in the kitchen and bathroom 1000 times a day, the kitchen table too
Lights have to be shut off if no one is in that room
Everything has to be in its place, I hate clutter
I hate dirty dishes in the sink, Ill wash a few dishes 100 times a day rather than one big sink full
The cupboard with the canned goods is all organized...veggies together, soups together
My fridge is organized...

I really just like to be organized and I make tons of lists...I make at least 1 list a day for something

Alex keeps his room picked up and puts his laundry away but I organize his book shelf, his stuffed animals and his drawers all the time. He has a small bedroom so if his blankets are hanging off the bed onto the floor I have to fix it or I feel like his room is a mess.

Maddie&EthansMom replied: Like Jen, I'm not really OCD about anything. I can't sleep with my bedroom door open, but I wouldn't call it OCD.

My husband on the other hand...is OCD about everything. We balance each other well.

Calimama replied:
Ditto

I don't think I'm OCD, just a neat freak. rolling_smile.gif

luvmykids replied: I don't know if I qualify as OCD about anything, but I do feel very strongly about some things laugh.gif

The toilet paper roll has to be over, not under.
Lid on toilet has to be down when not in use.
Drawers/cabinet doors have to be shut. Otherwise it looks like we just got robbed wacko.gif
I sweep under the couch every day, even if I don't do another lick of cleaning...it drives me crazy how fast dust builds up under there with our tile floors.
The TV being too loud, even though everyone else says they can't hear.
I check and recheck the locks at night when DH is gone, sometimes I even wake up in the middle of the night to do it again.
Being late....like most of you guys, DH is the contributing factor. I used to be chronically late but now that I've broken the habit I can't stand it.

Nina J replied: I do not say I am OCD about things; my mother had obsessive compulsive disorder, it is not a nice thing to live with. She was obsessive about locked doors and making sure everything was turned of, and even numbers. So, every night she would check every switch in the house an even amount of times, every lock, the stove. It took her so long.

I am not really obsessive about anything. I don't worry about it. I like to switch everything off and have things locked at night, but not to the point of my mother. I just like to have it like that but I do not lay awake wondering if it is off and get up to check, lol.

I don't like to be late, but I sometimes am. My mother is late all the time, if she says she will be here at 3, she will be here at 4.

Nobody remembers who got there first, but they always remember who got there last.

CantWait replied: Closet doors HAVE to be closed, especially before going to sleep.

Can never be late, I HATE it.

Toilet paper has to be OVER not under.

I hate when navy blue is worn with black, or brown shoes with black pants.

We have see through cupboards where the dishes are so all the plates and bowls, and glasses and cups have to be perfectly organized so it doesn't look chaotic.

DillsMommy replied: The only things I can think of are washing my hands. I wash them all the time. I can't stand when they don't feel clean. And the way I do laundry. I have to turn on the washer, put in some of the detergent, put in the clothes, and then add a little more detergent once all the clothes are in. It HAS to be done that way. Crazy I know. But I feel like the clothes won't get all the way clean if I don't add that little extra detergent at the end. blush.gif

redchief replied: I'm not OCD about anything. Lisa would say I'm too much of a perfectionist, but I disagree. Especially with plumbing, "good enough" doesn't work for me. I despise "Waterworks" (an old card game - Here's a pic.) looking jobs.

~Roo'sMama~ replied: I'm not bad enough to consider it obsessive, but there are a few things that I have to have a certain way ~

When I give the kids food in plates or bowls that have characters on them, I have to put it so the picture is facing the right way for them, even in the bowls where the picture is on the bottom and the food is totally covering it. They have these little bowls that have pooh and piglet and tigger in the bottom of the bowl and little hives and bees on the handles - after I put the food in the bowl I can still tell which way it's facing because of the handles and if it's facing the wrong way I'll switch the side the spoon is on and turn it around for them. blush.gif

Sponges and dish rags CAN NOT be left in the sink - if I find a cloth in the sink it goes in the wash and if the sponge is in the sink I either put it in the dishwasher or if it's gotten a lot of stuff dumped on it I throw it away and get a new one.

Shirts -especially Dh's, have to be folded a certain way - I'm always refolding them after my mom if she gets to the laundry first.

I know there are other things but I can't think of them right now. tongue.gif

Hillbilly Housewife replied: It comes and goes, I think.

Lately I've been a little lax on laundry... but usually that's the big one. Darks, lights, whites, underwear, socks, and then the same for the kids clothes... then towels, bedsheets.. they all get their own loads. Lately I've been just doing darks and lights, towel and bedsheets.

When I make pigtails, the line has to be PERFECT. If I get frustrated, then I make zigzags.

youngmomofone replied: I'm not OCD about anything really. I do wish I was a neat freak, though sad.gif
