OK one more pic of cakes

That is a must have, it's so classy!! Kind of like less is more..you know..it doesn't have all of the tiers and stairs and so forth as the other one, but it looks so elegant!

It is almost like the one I had at my wedding. If you really wanted the fountain, you could do something without the stairs... I think that is what sends it over the top. But, this one is my fav, as is!

kit_kats_mom replied: I wanted to post a pic of our wedding cake to give you an idea. You can't really see it in the picture but the tiers were all lined up even in the back, so each layer was even on one side but off kilter. Am I explaining that at all? LOL

Anyway, it's just an idea to make it a little different. I got lots of complements on it and if you use the flowers on it, it would give you more room on the front of each tier.

ETA: it was a New Years Eve wedding so it was supposed to look like bubbles in champange. And the bottom was actually styrofoam with icing on it. It was a small wedding but 3 tiers just looked puny.

Cary you're cake looks kind of like mine was supposed to look like, only mine was supposed to have tiny daisies on it instead of bubbles. Scott's aunt made our cake and totally went against everything we said we wanted - she put 6 inch pillars between the layers and we wanted them to be on top of each other... and she put daisies and bright green leaves and .. *trying hard not to scream* red lady bugs ALL OVER IT! I woke up in the middle of the night on my wedding night and sobbed my heart out over that rediculous cake. I still haven't quite forgiven her for it yet.

I didn't get time to post on the other thread and I hope you don't mind me saying this but the other style of cake is just outdated for my taste. This one is much much more classy and simple/elegant is sooooooo "in". Makes me want to get married again just to have a cake like that.

Maddie&EthansMom replied: My brother is getting married on the 26th of this month and my mother (cake decorator extraordinaire) is making a cake VERY similar to this one. The only difference is that the icing won't be quite so white and the cake will have scrolls on it. But, she is using the red roses between the layers. Just to let you know, this cake shouldnt' cost much at all b/c it is VERY SIMPLE to make. That is why my mom chose (and talked my future SIL into) this cake. There isn't much time til the wedding and ths one was so easy.

I'm getting SO excited about your wedding!! Can I come?? LOL!
