OK... so it's been awhile

Bee_Kay wrote: what's with some of the name changes?? LOL!! took my a little while to figure out who was/is who!

How the heck are all of you??

I have been sooooo busy. Last night, Tyler finished up this football season. Their record is 7 - 1 (not too bad). Now, he is thinking about signing up for basketball (more trips out of town!!).

I realized that Tyler has been in football now for 4 years....... and he only has 4 more football seasons left until he graduates highschool (that HIT ME like a ton of bricks!!)

Ashley is just as busy as ever. She and her boyfriend (of one month) broke up and she was heartbroken...... for about a day rolling_smile.gif But, the next day she saw what a jerk he was and swiftly "got over" him.

Alexis (the baby) is doing wonderful.... gaining weight like you wouldn't believe. She smiles ALOT at me, which is wonderful.

Other than that, not too much going on around here. We are supposed to get SNOW tonight dry.gif so I have to spend some time outside today putting away the patio furniture and stuff.

ETA: I'm still smoke-free!! thumb.gif

TheOaf66 replied: glad to have you back and I was curious as to what position your son plays for football?

MyLuvBugs replied: Glad to hear that you all are doing well. Haven't seen you on in a long time girlie!! smile.gif hug.gif How's the SD and her BF? And how are YOU miss smoke free!!??? smile.gif

Bee_Kay replied:
nose guard and left tackle wink.gif

His body sure feels it this year. He's hurt his foot (got it stomped on my a cleat) and twisted his knee a little bit. Even still... he loves it smile.gif

I miss those days laugh.gif

Glad to hear he is a defensive player though, that is more fun.

Bee_Kay replied:
OMG... about SD and her BF.... I tell ya, that is a whole other post!! LOL

As far as parenting, they are doing alright. As far as their relationship, I don't even know what to think.

Long story short.
Last week, she told me she was done with her BF B/S! Sick of his immaturity, his jackass behavior, his lack of interaction with the baby. So, she sets her sights on some guy that gave her a little attention rolleyes.gif
So, she asks me to watch the baby overnight because she was gonna have it out with her BF. I call her the next morning, and suddenly all is A-OK!! rolleyes.gif
So, now this "other guy is being all buddy-buddy with her BF. And I am like "WTF? werent you JUST kissing this other guy???? Doesn't it make you uncomfortable??"

BUT, she is an adult now and her choices are just that..... HERS. So, I don't butt in. wink.gif

ETA: I still love being smoke-free smile.gif

MyLuvBugs replied:
Oh WOW! ohmy.gif Sounds like you have your own soap opera going on with those two rolleyes.gif Goodness! Best just to stay out of it all, and focus on being a grandma....how ya liking that BTW? smile.gif

Bee_Kay replied:
It's been really fun (especially since I got her first smile) emlaugh.gif

But, I did have to put my foot down. I realized that they were relying on me WAYYYYYY too much. She/they were coming here every single day and I noticed that the feeding, holding, bathing, burping, ect. responsibilities were being put on me. (they were here approx 10 hours a day)!!

They were also calling and dropping her off here if they wanted a little more sleep, wanted to run to the store, wanted to do laundry.

Finally, I had to tell them "no". *I* had to do all of that when my kids were babies, so they are fully capable wink.gif

So, when they do come here, I make them get off their butts and do the majority of taking care of Alexis.
Not that I don't enjoy it, but she is, afterall, their responsibility.

***
Yep, all that other crap is THEIR soap opera. I'm not getting sucked into it. wink.gif

Bee_Kay replied:
Tyler loves playing defense.

He's gotten a couple sacks this year which he was REALLY excited about. He also loves hitting the center and opening the hole to "assist" in a sack.

TheOaf66 replied: well tell him to stick with it thumb.gif

1lilpeanut2love replied: wavey.gif Nice to see ya back!!

CantWait replied: Woohhoooo look at everyone coming back. Nice to see you, and still smoke free. Congratulations.

Thanks for the update, glad all is going well. Looks like Ashley has got a real good head on her shoulders, good for her for knowing that she's worth better.

I meant to ask, what age did your son start playing football? Robbie is 11 and just now wants to get into it next year.

Bee_Kay replied:
Tyler started playing football when he was 5th grade (so, when he was 10). He has now finished up the season for 8th grade football.

It's not too late for Robbie to start next year. 5th and 6th grade is more "structured playtime". It's in 7th grade (11/12 year olds) that it starts getting more serious. Learning plays, starting intense physical drills (that is when they start "feeling it").

So, to Robbie.... YES! I hope he does join next year and enjoys it!!

Insanemomof3 replied: Wow!! Congrats on quitting smoking!!!! I wish I could say that. sad.gif But nice to see you hon! hug.gif

CantWait replied:
Thank you very much. I'm sure he'll be very excited for next year to come.

punkeemunkee'smom replied: hug.gif glad you are back around! I figured that Alexis had Granma busy! wub.gif baby.gif wub.gif

I am so proud of you being smoke free-people have jumped off that wagon for less stress than sounds like you have delt with wink.gif laugh.gif thumb.gif Good job! hug.gif

redchief replied: Good to see you, Barb! Thanks for getting us up to speed on you all. Hope you can find more time in your busy schedule to keep us up (and keep up for that matter wink.gif )
