Well I look up at the house and I notice ALOT of smoke coming off my back porch. So I jump up and run up there and we have this kitchen trash can on the back porch that is always full of paper. Well it was on fire big flames it was full. So I grabbed the side of it (keep in mind it is melting cause its plastic) and throw it off the back porch into the yard. So then I stomp it out. But I was mad cause I knew it didn't start on its own. So I ask Lexi if she had been playing up there and she said no. Well I ask dh if he went up there and he said no. So at this point one of them are lying. Lexi finally admitted to it and said she lit the napkin on fire and then tossed it in the trash. I was so mad. I made her sit in a chair until I calmed down. She could have burnt my house down along with my car and my best friends camper which was right up against the house. Dh finally decided that was cause for spanking. So she got one. But I was so mad about it. She knows better than that stuff.
Kaitlin'smom replied: OMG how very scary. we talk all the time at our house about fire safty, even have a video Kaitlin likes watching to help remind her fire is no joke and not something you play with. I get it free at work, maybe I should get a few and pass them around.
moped replied: OMG how did she get something to lite it on fire? That is scary, glad you took care of it!
A&A'smommy replied: OH WOW!!!! how scary I'm glad you noticed it time..kids do such odd things
Danalana replied: Wow, I'm glad you caught it in time!
lisar replied: I would love a video. I tried explaining to her a million diffrent ways on how quick a house could burn down but I dont think she got it fully. I was gona search online and see if there was a place to order something like that.
lisar replied: She used the big lighter on the grill that is for lighting the grill.
jcc64 replied: Wow, that is pretty scary, Lisa! Kids are pretty fascinated by fire, and I worry too that they don't get how quickly a little mistake can turn into a major disaster. Hopefully, she learned her lesson.
Kaitlin'smom replied: let me see if we have a copy of it here at work and I can send it to you.
lisar replied: I would to have it
Danalana replied: I remember my mother trying to talk to me about fire safety when I was little. She would start off with "Dana, if the house ever catches on fire...", and then I would start crying She finally was able to tell me, but it was a while later.
