Hillbilly Housewife replied: Everything I`ve read on having a girl (I like to think we planned our 2nd to be a girl) is that female sperm can survive 5 days, whereas male sperm can only last 3 days.

So, if you KNOW when you ovulate, you 'make a baby' about 5 days before ovulation...which boosts your success rate by a lot to have a girl, since all the male sperm will be 'dead' after 3 days.

Female sperm last longer, but swim slower, male sperm swim faster but don`t last as long.

That`s the general concensus of what I`ve researched anyways.
