OUCH - Poor Dylan - Help - Baby *TMI*
lovemy2 wrote: So poor Dylan threw up on Friday nite - I was seriously like Oh My - how could all of that been in your little tummy?? But that was it - didn't throw up again - then last nite he had a little diahrea - then this am he had a diaper FULL of diahrea - poor kid and his little peepie has this HUGE nasty, andry red blister on the end of it.....and its all red on the head (sorry TMI I know but....)
Now having little experience with baby boy peepies - I called the Ped -she said soak him in a warm bath and put neosporin on it - or I could bring him in - what do you think - would you bring him in or try the bath and the neosporin first? He has been drinking but not eating alot so he definately isn't feeling the greatest -
So would you bring him in??? I know it hurts cause he keeps grabing it and going Owie.....
luvmykids replied: I think I would try her suggestions first, only b/c I don't think there is a whole lot more they could do...you can buy neosporin with pain reliever in it too.
Poor baby, my grandma swore by blackened corn starch for bad rashes, you put some on a tray and brown it in the oven....could you possibly let him go diaper free for a little bit? After you change him and you know he won't pee again for a little while? Airing it out seems to help more than anything, jmho.
I'm sorry, I hope it clears up very quickly, for both your sakes
mommy~to~a~bunch replied: OMG, skip the Neosporin! That has to BURN! Let him be naked as much as possible, and give him a couple baths a day without any bubble bath stuff or soap.
Just leave it alone, it should heal on it's own.
Crystalina replied: The Neosporin will not burn but I do agree with the air. Let him just chill out with his little weeny enjoying the air.
She may be suggesting the Neo to help the area but I would think she would have suggested (instead) A&D ointment. That will form a barrier between the weeny and the urine and any feces that may come in contact with it and agitate it more. I'm sure that's all that caused the red spot in the first place.
I've put much A&D on many weenys (grown up ones, I worked in a nursing home for many years). The A&D will do the same thing as the Neo so either way you choose.
He'll be fine.
I'm a poop checker. Especially since our ecoli tragedy so just check his poo good. Vomiting and diahrea scare me so I'm vigilant about checking poop.
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: My boys weenies get red from time to time. I always put a little Desityn (diaper cream) on it and let the air get to it. Bath is always helpful too to get rid of any bacteria. But make sure it's really dry afterward. As for the vomitting and diarrhea, plenty of fluids. If he doesn't have a high fever, I wouldn't worry, unless you think he is getting dehydrated. I thnk all the symptoms will pass in a day or two. Probably just a little virus he picked up - plus a little poop got into his weenie.
lovemy2 replied: OK - thanks - I did the warm bath and let him run around upstairs in my room for awhile butt naked - until he peed but the carpet in my room isn't the greatest so it wasn't a big deal - just cleaned the carpet good after - did the neosporin - it didn't sting at all so if anything it is keeping it from sticking to anything - its still quite red and angry looking - and the blister is still there - the ped said its best if the blister remains intact and heals without popping so hopefully - we'll see how it is tomorrow and go from there - I too think it is all caused from the poopie being in his diaper - I don't know when he pooped - he never woke up last nite during the nite so I kinda assume it happened this am when he woke up but not really sure - so I will keep you updated - poor little guy - but one good thing - I didn't know he could say Owie and also know what it meant
A&A'smommy replied: Poor little guy!!!!
jem0622 replied: There wouldn't be much they could do. Neosporin or Vaseline. Give it a little time. We've had penis issues here, and that seemed to resolve everything.
HUGS
Sam & Abby's Mom replied: It hurt me just reading your post. Poor guy!
I know with regular diaper rashes, creams that are white (ie: Desitin) have Zinc Oxide which is suppose to clear up redness quicker. Not sure what effect that would have on a blister, though.
Good luck and give the little guy a hug. Hope it heals quickly.
gr33n3y3z replied: I hope it heals quick And Is he feeling any better?
Calimama replied: Poor little guy, I hope the pain is going away.
Crystalina replied: It doesn't even really mean the poo was in there all night. It could have just been a poo that was "bad". kwim? Some diahrea is worse then others. I know Evan can get diahrea and within one or two poos his little bottom is very sore.
It'll heal. Lots of air and keep it clean and the moisture and poo off it.
redchief replied: Diarrhea is often full of stomach acid from the flush, and that's almost certainly what caused his blistering. It doesn't have to be in there long for that to happen either. You're doing all of the right things. I would think it will look better in a day or so.
sparkys2boys replied: I swear by the corn starch to. I have never blackned it but used it ALL the time on Cameron for diaper rash when he was small and it worked wonders for us. Poor lil guy, must be so sore for him. Hope it heals up quickly
boyohboyohboy replied: this stomach bug has been going around, thats what my entire house hold just went thru.. i agree with the neosporin, to help fight any infection that might arise..and the baths as often as possible and the airing out! i think if it isnt really looking some better in the am, i would take him in, just with all the staph thats been reported lately...i mean chances are its not..but just to be safe. i sure hope he feels better
lovemy2 replied: Well end of the day and he definately has some kind of tummy bug which in or itself is one thing but his poor peepie is so red still and angry looking - the poor little guy - we will see how it is tomorrow and go from there - he has had poopie bugs before but never had this happen which I can understand as Crystal said some poopie is worse than other and I am hope that is what it is from - will KUP
Tune in tomorrow for Dylan's red peepie
