OUCH! Poor Macilicious
luvmykids wrote: We just got home, she had a nasty fall on the tile floor and had to get four staples in the back of her head She's so tough, I kept telling her it was ok to cry and that she doesn't have to try to be so tough....she finally squeaked out "I know, I just am" She didn't cry until she had already gotten most of the Lidacane (or whatever the numbing stuff is)...even the nurse was amazed. Anyhow, Colt feels terrible since it was one of his cars she stepped on that made her fall, he's at her beck and call for the time being
I'd bless you all with a pic but I don't know how to get it off my phone
Calimama replied: Aww poor thing!!!
MoonMama replied: OH NO! Poor Macie, I hope it heals up quick!
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: What a trooper. "I know, I just am" How cute? Good luck when they start to itch.
lovemy2 replied: Aww poor Macie - if she needs any support tell her to call Olivia - she has "staple" experience
Many hugs to Macie that all heals quickly
BAC'sMom replied: Awww poor Macie I sure she heals quick
Brias3 replied: Awww, poor thing!
Hope she's feeling better soon. Sounds like she's being a real trooper too!
luvmykids replied: Christine (or anyone else)-I meant to ask the dr and forgot, do you know why they do staples instead of stitches? Stitches seem so much easier to remove, etc...just curious
She also told me when we got home that she's just going to take the rest of the day off
Brias3 replied: Your kids crack me up Monica. That last line is priceless!!
CantWait replied: OH GOSH, poor baby girl. Hope she's not in too much pain. Lots of hugs for her and for Colt. , I bet he feels awful.
kit_kats_mom replied: yikes! Poor thing, and so stinking brave too!
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Oh my gosh!!! Poor thing!!
I hope it heals quickly.
3xsthefun replied: Poor girl! Hope she heals quickly!
lovemy2 replied: My Ped did the staples (they do sutures right in the office instead of having to go to ER - during office hours that is) because he said it was actually less traumatic - he didn't do any kind of novacane (sp?) we could have but he said the staples are so quick to put in that it is much easier - and it was instead of her having a shot of novacane and then the staples he just did the staples and it took literally about 5 seconds to get all three in - and as for them coming out it is equally as quick except Olivia had it in her head they would hurt coming out like they did going in which of course they didn't - the key I think is to keep it dry - at least for about 4 days - that is what we did - and they healed fine....we kept neosporin on it so that as it healed it didn't dry out too much and itch like Kelly said.....
Plus I think because it was in the back of her head there was no concern for a scar - I think and I could be wrong that the scar is better with sticthes....but I don't know that for sure.....
More hugs for Macie and Colt too - call me if you need anything - if you don't still have my phone # pm me....
luvmykids replied: I figured it was b/c they were so fast...he had all four in before I even knew he'd started I wish they hadn't given her so many shots in her poor head, I really think as quick as it was that she wouldn't have even noticed. He said to keep it dry for the next few days, but how did you wash the blood out of her hair?
I told her about Olivia, and told her she even went to Disney with staples in Macie wanted to know if the princesses noticed and if Cinderellas fairy godmother turned them into a crown
lovemy2 replied: Funny you should ask how I got the blood out of her hair - I laid her on the kitchen counter with her head hanging over the sink and used the sprayer from the sink faucet to wash her hair - this way the water didn't directly hit the spot and it also didn't run down her head KWIM? She was a little freaked at first but then she thought it was great and still asks for her hair to get washed that way sometimes
Believe me - she got miles out of those stitches in Disney along with a few over priced souveniers - "but Mommy it would make my staples feel better"
jacobsmama replied: OH no...I sure hope she gets feeling better very soon! What a little trooper!!
MommyToAshley replied: Oh no!!! Poor girl, but she is such a trooper!
If that would have been Ashley and I would have told her about Olivia, then she probably would have wanted a Disney trip out of it...LOL.
Kirstenmumof3 replied: Awww poor baby! Emily is tough like that, it amazes me! I'm glad that she is okay and that it was just a few staples!
bawoodsmall replied: What a brave child. Poor Macie. I hope she isnt too hard on Colt.
