Oh make the screaming stop!! - Teething Question

Beccas_mom wrote: Becca seems to be teething pretty bad now. She woke me up at 3 this morning and screamed til 5:30 when she finally went to sleep. Then she woke up again at 7:30 and kept screaming til 9:45 when she finally went to sleep again. As soon as I called the Doc she woke up and was suddenly better unsure.gif (that happens all the time) So I was wondering if any of you can recomend anything to help her feel better? I can't survive another night like this! sad.gif We were both crying by 5 am bawling.gif help.gif soon.gif

juliajaj replied: Olivia is going thru a similar experience at 18 months (cutting molars). I don't like to give her medication unless absolutely necessary, but the pediatrician recommended Infants Motrin. It lasts 6-8 hours, and contains an anti-inflamatory agent that reduces swelling/inflamation. I think this is one reason why peds. recommend Motrin over Tylenol for teething (plus it lasts longer). Something else that helped Olivia was a chilled teether. I also recommend freezing small washcloths (place them in a ziplock bag in your freezer). Olivia would chew on an edge of frozen washcloth & it seemed to help her out. We only needed to give her 1 dose of Motrin each day for 2 days & she was 100% better by the 2nd night.

I hope you DD starts feeling better.

Maddie&EthansMom replied: ITA! That is great advice and I have nothing to add to it. I hope she feels better soon! grouphug.gif

CantWait replied: I have no advice, but just wanted to offer my support. Hope Becca is feeling better soon and she cuts her teeth quickly grouphug.gif

coasterqueen replied: I agree on what's already been said. Anything cold to chew on and if she is screaming I would definately say it's time for Infant Motrin! I only give that to Kylie when she is really really fussy and if she was screaming non-stop I would not hesitate one bit.

Kaitlin'smom replied: I agree time for the motrin when she is that fussy. other than that something cold to chew on, Kaitlin loved popsicles when she was teething real bad. I also hear hyland teething tabs are good, and they are natural and kinda numb then for a while. I hope she gets some relief soon!

paradisemommy replied: i freeze grapes for taven and he really loves those when he was teething...hope she's feeling better soon!

kit_kats_mom replied: I swear by Hylands Teething tabs. You can find them in the homeopathic section of Wal mart or buy them online. K always sleeps better after a dose of that.
Also, I was told to give a dose of tylenol, then motrin, then tylenol etc. For some reason my ped said that works better than either one on it's own.
K never would chew on stuff when she was teething but I tried the frozen washcloth. Seems like a good idea to me.

ediep replied: yup, yup, these mommy's covered it! I am pretty sure that my DS is the worst teether in the universe!!! At least it feels that way to me......anyway, we use infants motrin and hylands teething tablets when he is cutting a tooth. It works like a charm!

A&A'smommy replied: ugh i dont know what your going (yet) so i cant give you any advice but i can offer you some support and hugs!!! (((((BIG HUGS)))) to you and Becca i hope two get some sleep tonight!!!

mummy2girls replied: I use Hylands teething tablets with Jenna and that helped ALOT! Also Motrin. I hope she feels better soon... smile.gif

MommyToAshley replied: Glad she is feeling better. I feel so bad for our babies when they are teeting! bawling.gif
