Oh no, Desiree's little brother - had a fibral seizure last night
My2Beauties wrote: It was so terrible. Brian and I was going over there to ask Desiree's mom's husband (hope that makes sense, Desiree's step dad basically) if he wanted to get in our basketball tournament draw, when we get there Desiree and her mom ran out and I saw the looks on their faces, they looked so scared, but I was in the car with Hanna so I didn't want to get out, well Brian put the bag with the teams down and ran in the house, at this point I was really scared. Then I heard an ambulance and it started getting closer, well Desiree's mom (her name is Staci) comes flying out of the house and flags them down, so did Desiree! So I got out of the car and asked Desiree to come over and asked what happened. She said my brother had a seizure So I asked her to stay by the car (it was right in front of the house) and watch Hanna while I ran in. It was the most terrible thing I have ever seen in my life, he was laying on the couch just lifeless gasping for air, expressionless! I have never been so shaken up in my life, to see a 2 year old child laying there on his side coming out of a seizure, I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. The ambulance got there and took him to the hospital, Desiree came with us, she was really scared! He had had an ear infection and Staci didn't know it, he had just gotten a fever when she picked him up from the sitter's not even 2 hours before this happened. His dad was in there standing over him just rubbing his head and back saying it's ok daddy's boy will be ok...I was so scared! Brian knew what to do and so did Staci because Desiree had 6 fibral seizures (febral sp??) from the time she was 2 until 5!! The 911 operator told Staci that it can be hereditary, I hope to God that he doesn't have anymore! That poor baby!
mammag replied: Oh how scarey!!! I know all about it! Kristen had them when she was a baby. The first one was when we had driven to see my sister in KY. It was in the middle of the night and I didn't know anything about them so I thought she was dying. Her lips turned blue and she looked lifeless. Oh it makes me want to cry even thinking about it now. She had a few more over the next year but then it stopped. Her doctor had me alternate Tylenol & Ibuprofen whenever she had a fever to keep the fever down. I called the ambulance the first time and they took her. The next time they came but I told them they didn't have to take her. The other times I had to wait it out. None of the others have had them, thank God. I worry each time I have a baby though because I don't want to experience it again.
I hope he gets over his ear infection quickly!
mckayleesmom replied: Yikes...how scary
ammommy replied: That is terrifying to watch. I thought that Megan had one a couple of Friday's ago, but since she didn't lose consciousness it was just a tremor not a seizure. Whatever, Mr Doctor, it was still terrifying to watch. Thankfully, most of them do no perm damage. I'm glad everything turned out OK.

my son has seizures, they are caused by a brain trauma and can be taken care of with medicine. But sometimse he still has them and omg...it's awful.
There's a kid at school with severe..I'm saying this for lack of a real term, mental retardation- in that he got no oxygen when he was born and is kind of ...a vegetable? I'm sorry I'm not sure of the correct words. He has seizures sometimes and it really freaks Hen out! Luckily Hen knows to run down and have them call the kid's mom.
A&A'smommy replied: Oh no poor kid!!!! How is he now?
My2Beauties replied: He is doing good, he had an ear infection, which is what brought the seizure on. Just running around as normal now! Kids are so resillient! Poor little guy, I just hope he doens't have anymore!
Kaitlin'smom replied: oh how scarey I am glad he is okay, hope the ear infection clears soon
