Oh no! It has started already....

MommyToAshley wrote: I didn't think that kids went through the stage where they thought that they are always right until the teenage years. laugh.gif I think Ashley started early! wacko.gif

She was putting on her Red Dorothy shoes when she turned it over and said, "there is something on the peel of my shoe", and pointed to the heel. (She must have heard someone wrong at some point and thought they said peel instead of heel)

I asked her, "What's on your heel?"

She said, "No, on my PEEL!"

I continued, "That's called your heel"

She said, "What's a peel then?"

So I answered, "A peel is what's on a banana"

She said, "A peel is on your shoe too"

I said, "That is your heel" emphasizing the H sound.

She replied, "No, that is your Peel" emphasizing the P sound

It continued for a few more rounds and then I just gave up and decided I wasn't going to win... I guess to her it is a Peel! emlaugh.gif

atlantamomof2 replied: Nope, it does NOT only happen when they're teenagers! dry.gif Maggie likes to fight about song lyrics. I can't even think of one right now that she has TOTALLY wrong, but that's probably because it's most songs she sings that she doesn't really know the words to. I just thought one day, "I'll help her understand the song better by explaining what they're talking about" Yeah-dumb me! wacko.gif She thought I was absolutely wrong. Nice, huh?! dry.gif laugh.gif

MommyToAshley replied: Just a funny update...

Today Ashley was making a PB&J sandwich (with me standing there watching her of course) and she points to a banana in the fruit bowl and says, "Mommy, that banana has a peel, not a heel!" rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif She's been calling the bottom of her shoe the heel too, even thoug she never admitted it in our intitial conversation. Stubborn little bugger, LOL! She gets that from her Daddy. laugh.gif

MyBlueEyedBabies replied: very cute smile.gif
