Oh no, worried about birthday at PIU
MommyToAshley wrote: I am now getting worried about having Ashley's party at Pump It Up (a place with tons of inflatables). She was at gymnastics yesterday, and got a bloody nose just from bouncing around. She had two more bloody noses last night. Her party is this Saturday, and I hope we didn't make a mistake having it at a place where she will be bouncing around. At the time we scheduled it, she wasn't having bloody noses this frequently. Ashley gets so upset when she gets a bloody nose, I don't want her party to be ruined.
Please send us some "no bloody noses on Saturday" vibes.

My little sister used to get chronic bloody noses. The ENT doctor that my mom took her to had my mom put some neosporin on a qtip and 'lightly coat' the inside of Bonnie's nose. He said they see this problem alot in kids (and adults) when the inside of their noses are too dry, and like Lisa said, they have veins close to the surface. I hope you are able to escape one on Saturday!
Also, contrary to popular belief-if you apply pressure at the bridge of their nose and have them lean forward-it keeps them from having to swallow any blood and may stop the upset tummy that lots of people get afterwards.

MommyToAshley replied: I will have to ask about that. WHen I was at her appointment, I did mention the bloody noses to the ped but they weren't this frequent. I was just telling Rod that I have noticed that she mostly gets her nose bleeds in the same side so maybe it is a vein too close to the surface?
The ped did suggest putting some vaseline (like Abbie suggested with the neopsorin) in her nose to help with dryness. I do use saline nose spray on her before she goes to bed and when needed during the day and a humidifier in her room, so I will try the vaseline.
momofone replied: Nosebleeds are also a side effect of Clartin. Maybe that is what is causing it. HTH
A&A'smommy replied: I forgot about that, it totally is!!!!
I hope she has a great party and no bloody noses!!!
MommyToAshley replied: Are they really? That's one of the reasons we are taking it.
I will have to go back and read the pamphlet that came with it, it's been awhile. Thanks for telling me.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Yep, this is true. I get nosebleeds when I take it b/c it dries me out so much.

I wonder if it has something to do with the climate here lately, Dee Dee? Olivia has had 4 in the last 2 weeks including one at the pool last Sunday and one during the night (which I didn't know about till I washed her bedding) sometime in the past few days.
Hope her party goes well!!!
Calimama replied: I hope her party goes well, and she has no bloody noses. Those can't be fun.
aspenblue1 replied: Sending no bloody nose vibes. That is one of Isabella's favorite places to go. Hope you all have a great day tomorrow.
