mckayleesmom wrote: Oh my gosh ...why do I have such a mischeiveious child??....I just came downstairs and Mckaylee told me she "loves chocate mommy" ....I look in her mouth and sure enough...she has chocolate....But my second thought is...we don't have chocolate in the house....Now Im panicking because I bought chocolate exlax the other day because the pills they gave me after surgery made me constipated...Guys I am looking at the box right now and there are 18 pieces in the box...I took 2 and there are 9 pieces left......Do the math people...she just ate 7 laxatives.....What do I do? Im going to call my mom.....BTW...in case your wondering how she got them...Its my moms fault...She hung a bag of cosmetics and shampoo and stuff in a bag on the banaster... wacko.gif

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Brianne, call poison control now. You will need McKaylee's height and weight and the dosage per laxative and how many she took. The dose should be on the box. Google poison control if you don't have the number handy.
ETA she may need to be seen in the hospital, but don't induce vomitting until you are told to do so. Excessive diarrhea in kids can lead to dehydration fairly rapidly.

C&K*s Mommie replied: Fast thinking, Kelly. Wishing McKaylee well. hug.gif

mckayleesmom replied: Ok..my mom called the ER where she worked and they called poison control and they said that she will just have to pass it...I have to buy a ton of gatoraid and pedialite and make her drink tons of it...If she gets a tummy ache to take her to the Er so they can put an IV in if needed and help her pass it.

amymom replied: This is central NY poison Center. Don't know if it will work where you are:

1-800-222-1222

Edited to add: EVeryone should have the poison center number next to every phone in your house. Ok girls **** go get the number and write it down next your phones right now. Please don't wait until you get off the computer do it now. soapbox.gif I'm off my soapbox now rolling_smile.gif

kimberley replied: omg that is scary! i hope she feels better soon! hug.gif

C&K*s Mommie replied: WHEW!! Well that is good news, that at least she will not be internally harmed by this. I am glad to hear that she needs to pass it.

I have made a few calls to Poison Control, myself. And they are the best. I do not freak wacko.gif out when accidents happen, but they definately keep you calm, even if you are anyways. hug.gif

Our Poison Control # is 800 282 3171. It is on a paper that other important emergency numbers on it, on the refrgierator. I should know it by heart since I have called it a few times, twice in less than a week. blush.gif

kayla's mama replied: Glad to hear that she doesn't have to be rushed to the ER and that all she has to do is pass it. Poor Girl...Hope you have plenty of TP j/k smile.gif

I'm going to get it right now wink.gif

mckayleesmom replied:

Kaitlin'smom replied: ohmy.gif hon if your not gray now you will be soon.

ilovemybaby replied: How is she now?

mckayleesmom replied:

PrairieMom replied: The poor thing! I hope this isn't to hard on her!

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: I'm pretty sure it won't exactly be hard on her at all. LOL.

CantWait replied: Oh my. Hope she doesn't get to sick from it. Best of Luck sad.gif

MommyToAshley replied: How scarey... I would have freaked out! Calling Poison Control is good advice, I call if I am ever in doubt.

I have a magnet on the fridge with the poison control number, but that could easily be lost so I also keep it (along with all the other emergency numbers) taped inside the kitchen cabinet.

Just FYI, you can call poison control and ask them to send you prevention literature and decals/stickers with their number listed. They will also send these orange stickers with skull bones to put on poisons and you teach your kids to stay away from those. I try to teach Ashley to stay away from all chemicals, cleaners, detergents, etc though because not everyone has those stickers in their home.

mckayleesmom replied: Just bumping this up...to let you know what happened in the end...Even though it was weeks ago....She did fine....She pooped a couple times the next day and that was the end of it. wacko.gif I do keep all chemicals up really high....My mom was here and she didn't know those were in the bag when she hung it on the staircase.

~~*Missi*~~ replied: Wow I am so glad that everything turned out ok. I never saw this post!!
It sounds like something Sabrina would do... This is how sad I am I have poision control 911 and her ped on speed dial, yeah she is a trouble maker I can't even keep LOTION (grins and giggles) cause she will try it

So she had no problem with excessive poopy or cramping???

mckayleesmom replied: She pooped the next day and told me her tummy hurt once, but she still played and everything and the pooping stopped.

~~*Missi*~~ replied: sadly if you would have eaten that you probably would have been in the potty all day every day for week. Our kids do it and its like the tummies of steel ya know
So glad she is ok and handled it like a champ it sounds like
