We were sitting there and this guy comes in with his wife and sat next to us. He looked over after awhile and said "are they all 4 yours?" we said "yes". And he says, "well you're a glutton, I don't envy you". I felt like asking his wife "Is that your husband......I don't envy you". How rude can you be. If you want to think it fine but don's say something like that with the kids right there. I like having my four kids thank you very much. URRR!!!
~KARA~ replied: Oh my god that was Rude. You didnt say anything back to him??? I wouldnt have been able to keep my mouth shut!!
Now that I think about it my mom use to get "odd looks" when we all went some where. There were 4 of us but a nice age gap too. we now range in the ages from 27 to 14!
gr33n3y3z replied: oh my that was very rude How did you hold your tounge?
mammag replied: It's an unfortunate thing about me. I just let people say stuff and then think about all the things I should have said! I wish I would have at least said something like "that was rude". But no I just turned my head and didn't say anything. Oh well, I guess it wouldn't have been proper to make a scene in front of the kids anyway.
TANNER'S MOM replied: Oh I know I get the same thing..Four here too girl! I get the what no cable??
Is that all the farm girls know how to do?/
It does make you mad. I am sorry that someone talked to you like that.

A&A'smommy replied: OMG that is just wrong I want four kids so I would TOTALLY be offended!! Did you say anything back or just give him an evil look?
Josie83 replied: How RUDE! You're lucky to have four such beautiful kids . . . how adre he say something so rude? :anrgry: xx
DansMom replied: What a creep---if swearing were allowed here, I'd call him some other things! I don't know if responding to such people helps. Sometimes it creates a scene that would embarrass or frighten the children, so I think you were wise to steer clear. It's like road rage---if someone is that determined to stink up the place with his obnoxious personality, it pays to just get out of the way as soon as possible. You just never know these days to what lengths unhappy people will go---I think you were smart to leave him be. Also, when there is no response to an obnoxious statement, its obnoxiousness is more obvious to everyone. It just hangs there. It makes the guy look worse to be left with no response.
MichaelsMommy replied: Very rude. There are some on the other side of the rainbow though. We were out with all 5 of our kids for Cody's 16th birthday. We had alot of the people looking at us.. 16years down to 6mos. A really nice man came over and shook hands with my DH and made a comment on what a beautiful family we have and what a lucky guy he was. It's always nice to get that once in a while.
mammag replied: Aww, that brought tears to my eyes. Isn't it wonderful when people appreciate what we have and what we do? Sure it's hard sometimes but I wouldn't trade my 4 kids for anything on this earth!!!
texasp3 replied: LOL... um... you're a glutton for what??? Hugs, kisses and unconditional love? Oh dear, poor, poor you.
What an idiot that guy must be. I've said it before... I think mostly people just do NOT engage their brain before they open their mouths. I get all kinds of odd looks and comments because my two kids are sooo far apart.
We do have some wonderful responses... one was actually during our c-section class at the hospital. There was a young couple in front of us getting ready for #2 and when we were introducing ourselves and said we had one that was fourteen (at the time) and that we were expecting #2 the guy let out this totally spontaneous "Alright!!" and turned around and gave us a huge grin. It made us both feel really good. As much as we try not to let the opinions of others matter to us... the truth is, those opinions can either hurt us or make our day.
Daisyx3 replied: Well that is rude. My friend has 5 kids and she gets looks all the time.
