Ok I'm downloading pics now... - and
Hillbilly Housewife wrote: I guess I lost a little weight... I haven't checked in a long time... but more clothes than I though fit me, and something that was snug is loose now...
Anyways I'm just waiting for the pics to be done downloading, then I'm going to upload and resize on photobucket, then I want ya'll's opinions...
and no laughing at my hairy legs
grapfruit replied: Yeah for loosing weight!
Hillbilly Housewife replied:

Is my butt looking too big? Can you really see my front pouch? I don't have any support pants or anything like that on at the moment, I will later.
*********

I hate that the zipper is in front for that skirt...
*********

too bright?
Hillbilly Housewife replied: *********

OMG... I totally need a tummy tuck...
*********

the jacket is a little long, though???
*********

Can't really tell...but it's navy blue velvet. A sleeveless dress, and the jacket. It's really loose.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: And shoule I have my hair up or down?
I'm going to be wearing my contacts and some makeup... and some jewellery of course...
I HATE dressing up!!!
lisar replied: I like the red shirt with the black pants. Without the Jacket. As for your hair. I normally like hair down when dressing up. JMO...
coasterqueen replied: Ok, what kind of a Christmas party is this? I mean, like DH's for instance used to be very formal, with gowns etc, but we do a lot of networking at these events now (even me ) so I wear a business suit. At other Christmas work parties I've been at it's a bit more business-casual.
I like the red shirt with black pants, without the jacket too, for a more business-casual party. You can dress it up with a cute handbag if you have one, shoes and jewelry. I think your hair would be really pretty up too.
My next choice would be the black skirt. I'm not sure I'm crazy about that white blouse though, maybe the red would look better with it? Do you have a more form fitting black suit jacket? Or a nice black cardigan sweater?
ETA: If it's more business, then I'd go with the dress or pant suit.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: I think it's dressy casual... it's at his boss's house, fully catered... so no jeans, but khakis and a dress shirt for dh, for instance, would be fine... there's no networking, it's just the employees and their partners
Hillbilly Housewife replied: You can't see it really in the pic, but the black pants are pretty snug.. .they're kinda camel-toe-ing... and I'm not sure I want to wear it without the jacket...
coasterqueen replied: Ok, well if he's only wearing khaki's and a shirt (shirt and tie?) that helps decide what you could wear too.
BTW, networking can ALWAYS be done no matter where you are. I network with a lot of people at Dh's work and their clients because it can get me more known in the area and help my position (or future positions elsewhere ).
Hmmm, and if the pants fit too snug and you want to wear them, then wear the jacket, although you may be more dressy than Dh. The pants with the red shirt would be just right with his attire.
What do I know, though, I'm anyone's worst fashion victim.
coasterqueen replied: What about the red shirt and the tan skirt? I'd have to see a pic, though.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Ok well I do have another black jacket, although it's not velvet.
Blech I hate dressing up... gimme jeans and an old t-shirt anyday over this crap... lol
coasterqueen replied: Ok, well if you have another black jacket that would work with the black pants. I must insist on your DH wearing a tie though or he's gonna look out of place beside you.
Hillbilly Housewife replied:
holley79 replied: You can ahve all that dressing up. I can't stand it either. I have a Chistmas Eve Eve party we are going to. I'm not looking forward to it because it's formal attire.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Come on you guys... need OPINIONS!!! MORE MORE MORE!!!!!!!
lol
I only have 3 HOURS to decide!!!!!!
gr33n3y3z replied: yep same here Rocky
When I have to go out its always black pants some shirt with sweater or just a sweater
I hope you find your answers bc you wont find any from me LOL
punkeemunkee'smom replied: The first shirt and the black pants....Do you have some black heels? Maybe some silver jewelry-something with some sparkle
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Ok I went to take apic of the red shirt and tan skirt... as well as my other outfit, the one I thought was too "summery"... and while I was gone, the whole 3 minutes or so, Emilie managed to find a pen, undress herself, draw all over herself, and her brother's arms. Thanks Karen...
Here are the pics:
Our Lil' Family replied: Ok you asked....
The blue/green skirt with with top makes you seem old...so no to that one. The khaki skirt/black with stripe top is ok....but just ok. I think it's the skirt I'm not liking, too casual. I'm not crazy about the black skirt either, that zipper is just out of place. I like the red top and black pants the best....and I really like Abbie's idea of that stripped shirt with black pants.
I'm not a jacket person, I'm too short so I vote for no jacket but that's just cause I don't wear them.
And I like your hair up
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Whoops, forgot the pics... lol

This is what the top is close up...

The purse.....

Sorry about the pukey pink color of the wall, this is inside my walk-in closet...
the first shoes are matte, the second ones are shiny, but not patin leather... the patin leather ones must be in the car from my last outing, cuz they're not in my closet

And last but not least, Emilie's "damage" from the 3 minutes I was gone to take pics...
coasterqueen replied: Oops! Sorry 'bout that. Gotta watch those rascals.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: The pants are wierd... here's another pic where you can see clearer what they really look like...
ETA - hmmm, not so clear after all. They're pants with flare over top
Our Lil' Family replied:
Ok, that top looks REALLY good on you. Is that two pieces? The pants look a bit weird, explain it to me please.
coasterqueen replied: Ooh I like that black shirt/skirt outfit.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Thanks for being honest Naomi, that was on my mind too...
coasterqueen replied: Oh wait, those are pants.....not sure I like them. Do you have another pair of dress pants to go with that top?
Hillbilly Housewife replied: The pants are regular flare pants... but over top, there is more material, cut at angles...it looks like a skirt almosst...
here hang on. I'll take a better piucture of them. lol
booey2 replied: Yup the black pant/skirt outfit with the black top and black matte shoes and that purse, some gold ear-rings and a gold necklace would be perfect. (well that is what I would wear)
edited to add: even if DH is wearing kahkis and a shirt you will look great.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: This is what the material over the pants looks like on it's own (i covered the pant legs...

Here's a closeup of the pants... sorry, naomie kinda got in the pic...
This is the skirt that goes with the shirt... instead of the pants?

This is a closeup of the ruffle, which is like the one on the shirt...
Hillbilly Housewife replied: And I'm most likely going to wear my patin Leather shoes with the wood platform and heel.. matches the purse...
Our Lil' Family replied: That's it...that black top and the skirt! Not the pants...unless you can cut off that material that goes on top. YAY! ETA: Now put it on and take another pic! LOL!
coasterqueen replied: ITA! ANd look those kids up if you do.
booey2 replied: You do mean "lock" them up right.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: *sigh*
back up the stairs I go...
coasterqueen replied: Yep.
See that's what happens when I'm trying to get financial reports typed up AND playing on the computer.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Ah crap my camera crapped out on me... I could only download one pic.

Ah well... it shows off the angle and the ruffles.
booey2 replied: Sorry Rocky, I am more of a pant girl myself. I really liked the whole pantsuit look. You will look great no matter what you wear.
Our Lil' Family replied: VERY NICE Rocky!! Have fun with the accessories and watch DH's mouth drop!!
HAVE FUN!! Do you have an overnight babysitter???
coasterqueen replied: I'm a pant suit gal too, but it's because I feel more professional in them.
I like that dress outfit Rocky! I agree, have fun w/accessories and have a great night!
Hillbilly Housewife replied: I'm a pant chick too... you should see my legs close-up. I haven't shaved them since August.
I guess I have to take an extra long shower before leaving, huh?
My in-laws are babysitting... dunno if they're watching them overnight... but we aren't going to be drinking much, in any case, since it's work bpeople... lol
Hillbilly Housewife replied: And thank you so much everyone for the help!! I'm not so good at this kind of crap.
I'll have dh take a pic of the final look before we leave, to thank you all for your efforts!
coasterqueen replied: Ah Rocky, let it loose!
I do my best networking after a few drinks. Course it's usually because the people I'm working with are two sheets to the wind moreso than I am.
Have an AWESOME time tonight.
Ok, so if you don't let it loose tonight, I'm going to drink a few more for you at my Dh's Christmas party tonight.
booey2 replied: Okay guys, now I wanna go out and party too. DH's christmas party is no spouses and we don't have one here. Guess I'll just have to have a couple by myself either tonight or the night of DH's party. Yup Chocolate Martini's for everyone.
coasterqueen replied:
I'll have a drink with you tonight Terri. Mine is next Wednesday night and ALL day Thursday . I plan to recoop on the plane Friday morning. But mine isn't a spouse related party either.
jem0622 replied: I definitely like the last outfit best. I'm a little chub and khaki anything never does me any favors.
Have a fun time!
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Ditto. Skirts aren't my friend either. Black black and more black... and jeans.
Calimama replied: ooooo I love dressing up!! I'd pick that one. I'd get some silver accesories to add some sparkle though. Have fun!!
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Can I even wear silver accessories with gold rings?
booey2 replied: :dunno:Don't know, but I don't wear silver anyway so I would just stick with the gold, especially with the purse you are using.
coasterqueen replied: Gold rings as in wedding ring? Or earrings?
Calimama replied: If it's wedding rings.. it's fine. I just now saw the post about the purse.. so try to match your accesories with the purse.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: I'm gonna stick with gold... I don't have many silver accessories in any case, and the ones I do have are back from my hoochie days.
I'm having a quick snack and then off to the shower... kids are gone...
Booya!
