Ok, Jack is making me - CRAZY - is this every boy?
moped wrote: He runs around making car and truck sounds ALL DAY LONG - grrrrrr, vrooooom, beep beep, and it goes on all day long. From the minute he wakes up until he goes to sleep - I am going to FLIP OUT!
Do all boys do this?
Tom can tune it out, but I CANNOT
Anthony275 replied: i can't remember doing that
Maddie&EthansMom replied: I don't allow my children to make noises. Noises drive me insane! I know that must sound so mean, but really, I can't handle it.
moped replied: How do you get them to stop - I mean seriously
grapfruit replied: tape?
Totally kidding btw
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Seriously, I lose my mind. Trust me, it's enough to make them stop for the time being. I just have this thing about repetitive noises. It makes me come out of my skin.
moped replied: Yes i am coming out of my skin.....
Ok, well I get tired of saying Jack stop it over and over.....someone tell me how to get him to stop......
Anthony275 replied: you could tell him santa isn't coming if he dosent stop- is that too cruel?
grapfruit replied: I think boardline yes
Can he play in his room if he's going to make noises?? Like, no noises outside your bedroom.
moped replied: I think both are a bit harsh considering he is just playing with his trucks and making the sounds that trucks make -
Can't give him time out for playing....
grapfruit replied: Well I didn't mean punish him for it. I mean like, "Honey those are great sounds, I bet they'd sound even better in your room!!"
Probably wouldn't buy it huh?
lisar replied: I was gona say duct tape. LOL!!!! Just kidding.
lovemy2 replied: Guess you know now why you aren't a stay at home Mom huh
I for one would be in R Wing if I stayed home with my kids
Maybe give him a doll to play with (Sorry Tom)
tammyhopkins replied: My advise go to another room
AlexsPajamaMama replied: I cant stand that either...maybe find something else for him to do, redirect him.
Jamison'smama replied: My Jack makes a lot of noises when he plays with certain toys. Does he do it with all toys or just cars and trucks? I keep the noisier toys in Jack's room or in the basement and that's where they stay. I keep quieter toys in the family room.
luvmykids replied: Sorry! Maybe tell him the truth....those sounds are bothering mommy right now, could you please play something else for a little bit?
moped replied: All toy and any toy!
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I am the same way Aimee! Wil doesn't do the car sounds much, but he likes to do animals and he has a whine that is seriously like a fire siren. I admit, I yell sometimes, but most times I just say "being too loud is inappropriate, please lower your voice" or "shhh, quiet as a fish Wil". Or I ask him to go down in the basement if he wants to bark.
BAC'sMom replied: Duct tape works at our house
No really he is just being a boy and it doesn't get better with age. Ask Holley how loud my house was yesterday
bawoodsmall replied: Dont know yet about the boy thing. Aiden hasnt really started that yet. The girl though always always talks....LOUD!!! I obviously cant tell her to zip it but I just tell her to use her inside voice. So far doesnt help much.
MommyToAshley replied: This is Ashley... she doesn't make alot of sounds, but she is always talking... always has. She is never quiet, except appearantly she is quiet in school. Teachers must have some kind of magic quiet dust because the minute she walks through the door it is all talk, non-stop. She even talks in her sleep. I remember having a headache in the care one time and thinking to myself that I wish she would just be quiet. Then, out of the blue, she says, "Mommy I love you"... talk about guilt trip. (at least I was only thinking it)
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: No, Logan roars like a dinosaur and makes light saber sounds. He is addicted to Star Wars.
MotherForever2043 replied: Oh man! I can't wait until Jordan does that
A&A'smommy replied: ohhhh goodness noises aggravate me too so Alyssa has to go in her room when she is making a bunch of noise And I know she is only 4 bless her heart it drives me NUTS when she repeats EVERYTHING I say 8 times but I have been good so far I just treat myself to chocolate at night
Brias3 replied: Oh, I feel for you. This was Mason from about February till September of this year- UGGH. He's a loud kid in general, its just those sound effects are EXTRA loud. Bruce always thought it was funny, until I pointed out he was not the one listening to it ALL THE LIVE LONG DAY
Watch, now I'll jinx myself
Boo&BugsMom replied: Tanner doesn't make car noises, but he will say something, laugh at himself, then repeat it, and then does that process over and over (say something, laugh, say it again, laugh...) until we tell him to stop. He does this often, like nails on a chalkboard. Drives us bonkers! And it's the most ridiculous things that make NO sense! Boys!
I had a daycare girl who would always pretend to be a kitty. She was always saying "meow" over and over. Mom thought it was cute...I did not. Mom also thought it was cute when she'd lick mom's face like a cat. I again, did not.
I had another daycare girl who use to pretend she was a puppy, over and over. Every time I heard her bark I would cringe and tell her to knock it off. After awhile I had to tell them no more pretending to be animals because it drove me SO crazy!!!
Gosh I'm so glad I don't do daycare anymore!
MoonMama replied: I'm sorry Jen I really am. I can just totally sympathize with you. Brae newest thing he started today is "go dog", "go dog", "go dog", "go dog", "go dog" all day long!
