Ok you creative people - Ideas for Jacks Bedroom Theme

moped wrote: I was going to do Thomas or Cars, but they are both a passing phases - I am quite flexible as to what I do but I can't think of a thing

lovemy2 replied: How about just generally trains or cars or airplanes or motorcycles - I saw a room once with blue on the bottom a border with airplanes and then the top was a light blue with clouds - it was adorable or construction trucks - kinda like Bob the Builder type trucks but not specifically Bob stuff....that way it can kind of grow with him - or the old standby sports stuff -

punkeemunkee'smom replied: We were going to do a barnyard theme in Tay's room. Everything 3-D...We still might as she still asks for horses and things in her room rather than the Princess theme we decided on wink.gif

Jamison'smama replied: With my Jack's we did a vehicle theme so we could add in some Cars stuff and some Thomas stuff but we could keep it more neutral for when those phase out. I bought a red comforter and vehicle sheets, one of those rugs with roads on it, a Cars stoplight and some random cars and trains for the shelves and he has a Thomas couch and blanket-- so really, his room is a little multiple personality but it works for us. When vehicles in general are not his thing, I still have the neutral comforter and walls and can add in the accessories of the moment.

Other ideas....general sports theme

A friend of mine did an under the sea theme, they had a bed made to look like a dock, they painted the lower half of the room a deeper blue, added sticker-like fish, a "fishnet" for the stuffed animals, really cute. I just had too many Cars and Trains to not do the vehicles.

Hillbilly Housewife replied: Let me see if I can find a picture of Zach's room.....

Bah. Not on my laptop.

The room was light blue, and about 1 1\2 feet from the ceiling, there was a 2 inch bright red border. Above the red border, was bright green. The furniture was dark blue, and the door and window trim was bright yellow. The closet doors were also red.

The comforter was dark blue, and there were cars and trucks and stuff all over.

They're pretty generic colors... and they go well with both the Cars theme and the Thomas theme. I KNOW I have a picture of it somewhere... I just don't know where.

moped replied: Oh I would love to see a pic Rocky

Hillbilly Housewife replied: Here's a "paint" version of his old room... the colors are approximate obviously

moped replied: Very cool - I am thinking that looks like a LOT of work

Hillbilly Housewife replied: It really wasn't.

I did it when I was pregnant with Emilie, in a day.

If you draw a line across the room, then you roll on the blue and the green... pretty approximate.... then you only have to tape off for the red strip....or you could do it with a sponge if you want it even easier...

Didn't take me long at all. smile.gif

moped replied: I really like this idea ya know - that way it isn't specific to any theme ya know - I really like it!

My mom is the master of this sort of stuff so I may have to request a visit soon!

Thanks

boyohboyohboy replied: we did a huggy buggy theme, that is so cute, its fat soft cars, trucks, planes, trains, and it has the cutest borders and toys....

TANNER'S MOM replied: At our old house Tanner had a barn theme. We painted the walls barn red..and then I took a broom and sweep down the paint to make it look like wood. He had a beautiful horse border and a saddle for decoration. It was really cute with a red comforter.

My friend did a race car theme. She did the a neautral wall and then painted his closet door with a stop light, Red, Orange and Green Circles for the stop light. She found stickers for the wall that were traffic sign, Stop, Caution. When you walked in it on his outside door it said Welcome Race Fans. And then on one wall she stenciled some racing strips. It was really cute. She had the carpet that the kids played cars on too.

luvmykids replied: I saw a really cool planes, trains and automobiles room once...they had vintage gas signs, posters from the old makes of cars, etc. It was really cute.

I wanted to do a camping thing in Colt's room...camo comforter, and I found a really cool kids climbing wall for bedrooms. But he's stuck on the cowboy/horse thing.
