How do you feel about it? Is a good idea or not?

I think they should do this nation wide biggrin.gif

Crystalina replied: I agree that it should be a national law. thumb.gif

CantWait replied: I agree. thumb.gif

Boo&BugsMom replied: I like it! I think our whole nation is soft on criminals to begin with.

ZandersMama replied: yes was reading about that today.........definitely!

Twelve Volt Man replied: I don't claim to be an expert on child abductions or sexual assaults but, as a police officer, I feel qualified to weigh in. Our criminal justice and judicial systems are entirely too lenient with child predators. Some claim that offenders suffer from an illness. This MAY be true, however, it has been my experience that an offender NEVER victimizes just one child, then stops. The offender continues his (or, sometimes, her) evil deeds for years. Personally, I could care less HOW an offender is dealt with, as long as he is punished and NEVER has the chance to do it again. Feeble attempts at rehabilitation, do not guarantee our childrens' safety. Life in prison does.

Cece00 replied: Sounds good thumb.gif

Personally, I think they should give sexual predators the death penalty.

JadensMama05 replied: Heck yeah! This should be EVERYWHERE....

redchief replied: I agree with this legislation, which is no small thing, because I'm rarely OK with absolute mandatory sentencing laws. I agree with this one though, and I think it should be federalized.

my2monkeyboys replied: I agree with it totally. I wouldn't even be against the death sentence. After all, should we really have to clothe, feed and shelter a child molester for the rest of his life???

mom2my2cuties replied: I am aware of this...And am a STOUT supporter of it. Most of you know my story. And Michael's story. This law directly impacts our lives as the whole case is being dealt with in Spokane, WA.

VERY well said. It is rare that there is only ONE child. Most of the time there are at least 2 - Sex offenders, especially child offenders are habitual or even serial offenders.

DansMom replied: I've long felt that the penalties for such crimes were far too lenient, and that precious lives could have been saved had we not released so many perverts back into communities. That that is where we should be focusing our energies---stiff penalties to begin with, removal from society for life.

As long as the wording of the law specifically excludes any Romeo and Juliet type consensual relationships from being penalized in this way, I'd support it.

stella6979 replied: I definately think it should be a nationwide law. I followed this case very closely and have even read details of what he did to those kids and what that little angel Shasta had been put through.
We constantly hear how expensive it is to execute such criminals, but all we really need is a $.30 bullet and a 357. Problem solved!

punkeemunkee'smom replied:

I do agree with that...a 18 year old boy with a 15 year old girl or something of that nature is not a sexual offense IMO-however the 20 somethings with girls in their young teens (13,14...) I think should be looked at as a possible pedofile in the making....

As for the law in it's spirit now-to lock up and keep locked up child offenders I say SIGN IT!!! It is time to STOP these animals and keep our children safe! I do not believe there is a parent in the world who would disargee with keeping a monster like these people away from their kids...Bill and I always say if they raised taxes for worthwhile things like this we would pay with no complaints!!!!

stella6979 replied:
That's true. I suppose we could always shoot a few holes in them and let them slowly bleed to death. I would be satisfied with that.
