Opinions needed

At first, I thought I'd like a lighter wood, but I came across this set and the more I look at it, the more I like it. I was just wondering what you all thought of it? Would you put this in your dining room or is it too "old" looking?

MyBlueEyedBabies replied: From the picture I like it and for $75 you can't really beat the price.
If you don't like it after having it in your house you can always find/ build a new top for it and painting is really not difficult. I like getting my hands dirty and building new stuff so my opinion might be as tad skewed on that front
Our Lil' Family replied: I like that a lot. For $75 you can replace it in 2 years if you don't like it.
Crystalina replied: I can't tell if it's tiled on top or just cut into the wood. Either way from one cheapy to another I say go for it. We have similiar chairs with our table (only blonde wood) and they don't last long. The little spindles come off but I think that is with any chair that gets used alot. It's hard to find a good chair. I think just about all of mine need to be replaced. **drifting...** Back to the OP I say I would put it in my diningroom. For that price you can always throw it in a yard sale and relplace next year.
**ETA** Woops, I seem to be repeating the previouse posters.
mom21kid2dogs replied: Great price, easy to paint~what's not to love. FWIW, I have very similar chairs that I got for my wedding 23.5 years ago and they are still going strong. We used them every day.
stella6979 replied: Wow, 40 views, but only 3 responses? I'm guessing most of you don't like it eh? LOL! Well I appreciate the feedback from everyone. I'm going to take a look at it and see if it's in as good of condition as the seller says it is. Thanks!
amymom replied: lol You are funny!!! I did view earlier and could not respond because I had a customer come in. Darn those customers!!!
Anyway, I like it and would put it into a dining room. It would have looked wonderful in the DR at my old house. My current house is a formal Victorian dining room so the room would overpower that table.
lisar replied: I like it. I would use it no problem And for 75 bucks that makes it even better.
hopefulmomtobe replied: Not really my style, but great great price!! Looks like it is in great shape as well. I say go for it!
MyBabeMaddie replied: I really like it and for $75 you can't beat it!
TANNER'S MOM replied: For the price I say go for it. I have the light wood you are talking about wanting and to be honest I don't like it. I have to keep a table cloth on it because my kids have spilled red kool aid and mustard on it that got in the grain of the wood. I had to take a bleach pen to it many times. If I had it to do over again.. I say dark wood.
dreneef replied: I like it! I am a dark wood gal~ Go for it! You can't beat the price either. It looks pretty sturdy!
mckayleesmom replied: I definantly say go for it.....I really wanted this awesome table at Sams club for 500 dollars a while back....I checked craigslist before I went and found a cheaper table for less and bought it instead....Im cheap too.....The chairs in the picture of the table you are looking at are pretty much like mine...except a different table shape and I have a bench on one side....
I say go for it.....you have young kids and they are going to poke forks, spill on it...etc.....The nice stuff can come when they are older.
luvmykids replied: I have chairs like that, my dining room furniture came from MIL and she had it since DH was a kid so I think those chairs hold up pretty well. I'm actually getting a new set, I'd give you mine which is similar to that pic only my table top is solid wood with a leaf if you were close enough to pick it up!
Anyhoo, the point is, you can't beat the price and I prefer darker woods, tbh.
MoonMama replied: For that price, I say go for it.
Calimama replied: Wow, what a great price. I agree with everyone else, go for it!
hawkshoe replied: To me, this is not a "dining room" table, but rather a "kitchen" table. While it is not my personal style, it does look like a nice set. If you like it, go for it.
mom2my2cuties replied: This is what I was thinking
CantWait replied: LOL well I wasn't going to respond because it's not my taste......and at the time of seeing it I couldn't think of a tactful way of saying it as I did above. I say if you like it though, that's what's important.
Boo&BugsMom replied: I'm in the middle. I like the table itself, but after dealing with the grouted floor we have, I certainly wouldn't want to deal with a grouted table. I also like tables with leaf inserts to make it bigger for when we have company over. The table itself though I do like, I just wouldn't like dealing with the grout and the tile on top, even though I like the look of it. I love dark cherry wood like that too.
