Our neighbors story of adoption - (((long)))

C&K*s Mommie wrote: I just wanted to share this story about our neighbors who unexpectedly were able to adopt a newborn, and how it was meant to be for them to be her new parents.

Our neighbor came over Fri evening, and mentioned while he was here talking with Chris, that I should come over to meet his new baby. I never expected an actual baby, I was thinking a dog or a new pet, or even a baby doll for the 18mo old granddaughter.

The female neighbor (the wife) has a step father who works for a mission, or homeless shelter or some sort of charity (I cannot remember which for sure). There was a young lady who was also addicted to cr*ck at this shelter/mission. She "did not know" she was PG. sleep.gif So no prenatal care was taken, nor any plans to visit the hospital during the 9mos. In the end, she gave birth at home to this baby, the father ended up cutting the cord, the ambulance was called but the mother refused to go to the hospital with the baby and seek treatment for post partum care. The baby went alone.

The child social workers were notified, and the avenues were begun to seek the proper care of this newborn. The step father mentioned that a baby was up for adoption to our neighbors, and asked if they were at all interested. They talked it over, and decided to put their name in as a possibility. Not expecting in the least that they would even have a chance, a social worker called to get the background check rolling, came out to their house to ensure they had food and it was a healthy environment, etc, and eventually they ended up with the newborn, Elizabeth. wub.gif

The husband had just turned 50, and their youngest child is 13 or 14 y/o..so not much longer until they would have an empty nest. They just had their first g/c last year. They had never taken a class, nor did they show interest up till this point in adopting. That is why I know they were meant to be 'Libby's' parents. happy.gif

One more thing: Elizabeth (the newborn) has been tested for cr*ck, tested for AIDS/HIV and all the test run have come back negative. She is a healthy baby, that is not addicted- whatsoever! redbounce.gif The best news on top of the good news, IMO. wub.gif

That is awesome for Elizabeth. Austin (litte boy I talked about last year) was positive for CC. He is doing great now though. I see his "daddy" everyday here at work. I think there are those that are just meant to be for these babies.
