P&PT's for Chris' bioligical family, please
C&K*s Mommie wrote: Chris' biological father called him tonight to inform him that his Papa Bob passed on today. What exactly happened to cause his death-- even the docs are not sure. They just know that his heart stopped (forget the medical term--cardiac arrest?) on them twice, then on the third time they could not revive him anymore. There were complications preceding this, the latest one noone knew about until yesterday when his wife (I love that lady!) called the ambulance.
Anyhow, he wished to be cremated and to have his ashes spread at sea. Since he was in the Navy. Fortunately we got to see them at Christmastime, but unfortunately our girls did not get to really know him since they are so young. He was very friendly to me, when I was there. His wife is not doing so well, with this. But we plan to go over to Tallahassee the weekend of the 18th anyhow, so I know we will make a point to see her then. We are always pressed for time, but this is a special circumstance and I know that we will make the time to visit her.
P&PT's for his biological father's side of the family, would be appreciated.

Nicole~ You said he was a Navy man. So was my Grandpa(we lost him in 2001-he was a hard hat diver in WW2) We sang a hymn at his memorial that brought alot of comfort to me-it was a hymn they sing at the Naval Acadamy and so had remained one of my grandpa's favorites-These are the original words....
Verse 1: Eternal Father, strong to save, Whose arm hath bound the restless wave, Who bidd'st the mighty ocean deep Its own appointed limits keep; Oh, hear us when we cry to Thee, For those in peril on the sea!
Verse 2: O Christ! Whose voice the waters heard And hushed their raging at Thy word, Who walked'st on the foaming deep, And calm amidst its rage didst sleep; Oh, hear us when we cry to Thee, For those in peril on the sea!
Verse 3: Most Holy Spirit! Who didst brood Upon the chaos dark and rude, And bid its angry tumult cease, And give, for wild confusion, peace; Oh, hear us when we cry to Thee, For those in peril on the sea!
Verse 4: O Trinity of love and power! Our brethren shield in danger's hour; From rock and tempest, fire and foe, Protect them wheresoe'er they go; Thus evermore shall rise to Thee Glad hymns of praise from land and sea.
I don't know why but I found comfort in singing a song that I knew he had sung and probably held dear in fearful times during his life. I remember him humming the tune
C&K*s Mommie replied: Thanks you guys for the responses.
Abbie that is a very, very nice hymn thank you. I thought of the seamen of the USS Cole, and Pearl Harbor. Some our most recongnized US citizens, that lost their life while at sea. I will have to reprint those words, and have them retyped, printed nicely & framed for his widow. (we call her Meme~ but there is a Meme & a Grand Mimi on Chris' other side- so it gets confusing)
Ann, to answer your ??, Chris is okay really. It is on his biological fathers side, and while he loves them very much, he was not as close to Papa Bob, as he is to his Papa on his mothers side. His adoptive fathers' (my FIL) family passed on several years ago.
