PRAYERS NEEDED - for Mel (TANNER'SMOM) and Randy!!!

I had never heard of it before and then all of a sudden this is the third person I heard of that had it. I wonder what is going on... because isn't it rare in your area?

TANNER'S MOM replied: Thank you guys so much. He is sleeping now. He has been sick for a few days w/ what he thought was a migrine. He has never had one before. And was miserable. Last night he started the fever and vomiting. He was chilling and then sweating. He begged me to take him to the doctor this morning. We have been married 11 years and this is the 2nd I have EVER taken him to the doctor. So, I knew he was sick. He said even his hair was hurting. His fever was 102, and in an adult male that is considered high. His pulse was like 160 and normal would less than 80. Blood pressure was actually High on top, low on bottom. The doctor couldn't find infection, throat, ears, nose, even did strep test and mono test after Randy told him that he his throat didn't hurt. Then he did a simple blood panel and didn't like the results of that. He asked where we lived and Randy told him in the country on a farm. He then said have you been bitten by a tick? Randy said Yes I got the first bite about a week ago. He then said Randy was presenting all the signs of tick fever. He sent us to the hospital for an CT scan, b/c he was worrying about swelling or fluid on his brain w/ the onset of the headaches. Then they did even more blood work. Sent us home w/ antibotics and pain/fever meds.

They called a minute ago and said that they got his CT scan back and it was normal, What a relief! But they said his liver enzymes were high and his white blood cells threw the roof. They said to take the antibotics and if he gets any worse tonight at all, to go to the ER and they will admit him. They want to follow up at 11am in the morning if he doesn't end up in the ER tonight.

He never gets sick so I really hate to see him this way.

Just last week I was talking about how we hadn't had many ticks. He is the first one in the family bit all summer and around here that is amazing. I am just in shock!
