Peds GI appt scheduled this week - finally
boyohboyohboy wrote: Jake is getting worse and worse...he wont take his meds, and is refusing all foods. He is only living on the pediasure. He is acting more and more like he has terrible belly pain. I have had him back into the ped, and finally got them to agree we cant wait any longer..so they called and we are in next tuesday...now if I can just talk them into scoping him. God bless his little soul, he is still the funny kid though, and teasing his brother.. his weight was good, he is still gaining and was 22.6 pounds at 16 months of age...but they still call him failure to thrive, I thought that would be dropped by now..
so pray the dr's know what to look for.
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Wow, then Logan should for sure be counted as failure to thrive. He's 2-1/2 and weighs only 24.2 pounds. I sure hope the peds GI can figure out Jake. How miserable for you.
MyBlueEyedBabies replied: Good Luck.
I hope they get all of this figured out for you fast so you can move on.
MoonMama replied: Oh honey lots of P&PTs!
amymom replied: I am so glad the appointment is now made. I can't wait to hear what they say.
lovemy2 replied: Good for you to keep pushing and I sure hope the GI can help you figure things out - have you taken him to an allergist too??
msoulz replied: Me too - poor little man!
DansMom replied: I hope the GI visit will get some concrete answers. Tuesday can't come soon enough, can it? It seems so far off when your child isn't eating. Hang in there, Stacy
boyohboyohboy replied: Yes he has been to an allergist, and also we are thinking it might be time for an ENT also. but first is the GI and what ever tests they want to run.. My oldest son had a polyp when he was one, it was described to me as his colon was the size of a quater and his polyp was the size of a nickel so he was having a really hard time passing stool, and what he did go was diarrhea, and he also had all the same symptoms as jake. I was told these are hereditary. where jake has more allergy type symptoms caleb had asthma components. so we shall see.
lovemy2 replied: Olivia has constipation and it does cause her not to eat well...if I forget to give her the miralax to keep her stool soft she gets "backed up"...I can always tell because she stops eating good - not that she is a huge eater anyway - all of 32 lbs at almost 5 years old...
Kirstenmumof3 replied: Hoping all goes well for him and that you get some answers!
sunrosejenn replied: Hope they figure out what is wrong with him. Has he always been like this or is this a new thing? I'm sorry I don't know the whole story.
