We go to Memphis every year, because my husband is a former cancer patient @ St Jude's, and he still is monitored every year by them. He was placed into ACT (After Completion Treatment, I think...or After Cancer Treatment...something along those lines) program this visit, which means they will monitor for another 5 yrs, plus he was put into 2 research programs that are studying long term effects of treatment on ppl with his protocol (for Hodgkin's Disease...) and the quality of life for patients who have survived (it has a 90% survival rate these days...)
Anyway, his checkups were FINE, his cancer is still in remission (I believe this is 5 or 6 yrs for him...) and he looks pretty healthy. He needs to lose some weight (me too...) because he is a bit overweight and his sugar lvl was elevated...his mom is a diabetic so its pretty important that we watch this...but I think he will do it.
Then we went to Nashville, I lived there for awhile, and had a good time & visited with old friends from school. Here are some pictures!

We have some friends who live in Memphis and these are their, I kid you not, PET RACCOONS. They have 3 of them, and they are tame as any domestic animal. Its crazy.

kit_kats_mom replied: I lived in Nashville for a while. Never made it into the Parthenon because they were revamping it the whole time we were there. Thanks for the pics. I've always wondered what it was like inside.

Kit_Kats_Mom - HCA is ALWAYS doing something to the Parthenon I don't think it stays open for more than a few months a time  My husband jokes because they are ALWAYS raising money for it. (He works for HCA)
If any of you have a Gaylord Hotel in your area - they will be doing ICE - it is sooooooo great! We went to the one in Dallas last year and will do the one in Nashville this year if I am home in time!

Actually, the leaves changed awhile back...barely any were "on fire" as we used to say when we lived there. We never get there in time  Oh well, its beautiful anyway. I really miss it there.

Oh- those coats arent ours. They give them to you when you go in...they're waterproof so that your clothes dont get wet when you ride the slides.
