We are now 2 and 1/2 weeks post op and you would never guess he had open heart surgery that recently unless you saw his chest. The first pic is graphic, I hope nobody minds. I just wanted to share pics of my strong little boy.
Day 1, 2 hours post op.
Day 2, awake, but drugged and not recognizing Mommy.
Day 3, he was getting so tired of tubes and people. He ate jello for the first time this day.
Day 4, he did get to wear his Halloween costume. Even if he was in PICU.
Day 5, my smiling boy was back. And he hasn't looked back since.

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: That was the hardest part. I couldn't give him a hug for over 24 hours. Just too many tubes. And the first time I held him I hurt him. That was so rough.

Next time I am feeling low, and sorry for myself I (hope you do not mind) but I will think of Logan and his character to endure something most adults do not want to have to endure, and his strength. Bless his ((strong)) little heart!!

I bet it was so hard to look at him laying there with all of those tubes, bless your heart and you are storng as well for being there for him and being by his side each and every day! BLess his little heart! He is so adorable!

DansMom replied: What a sweet little guy Logan is! And brave. Mommy too! It's hard to see such a little person with all those tubes and wires, and the big scar. But the progression of photos also shows how resilient and tough he is. I want to give him a big hug!
