This is a picture of my parents at their wedding in 1954. They are both deceased now, but my brother just sent me this scanned picture. Thought I would share it. My parents paid for their own wedding, Mom borrowed her dress, and they had a great time. They were married 40 years when mom passed away. In the corner you can see my father's mom and neice. My dad's dad had passed away, just after they got engaged. And Mom's parents were poor farmer's in Ireland, they were unable to come to the wedding. My dad met his in-laws after being married for 12 years and having 4 kids. Different times!!

amymom replied: Thank you all. I just think it is so wonderful to look over old pictures and see what life was like for our parents. My brother just scanned in 400 of old family photos.

I never thought of my mother as beautiful, until after my daughter was born (18 mos after mom passed away). My DD looks just like her grandmother, so now I can see her beauty and it really shows up in this picture IMO.
