luvbug00 replied: Yes Mya has had hers done 3 times. She kept taking them out as a youngin' and I couldn't get her to let me get them back in!
MyBlueEyedBabies replied: Katy can get them pierced when she asks for it to be done. I have had to pierce my ears 6 times and they have always hurt for a few days after, she will have to be old enough top understand that it can be painful and to take care of them herself.
5littleladies replied: I let my girls get them done once they reach 5 years old. Maddie decided to wait until she was 6, and Meg is 5 and hasn't gotten hers done yet.
party-of-six replied: My eldest, who is now 16 1/2, had hers done on her 1st b'day. HUGE mistake. She has the WORST metal allergy now. Unless even the stems are 24K gold, she CANNOT wear earrings.
My twins, who will be three at the end of next month will get theirs done when they can ask for it AND take care of their ears themselves and not a minute before.
gr33n3y3z replied: Erin was 11 years old and Katie 9 years old
TeagansMom609 replied: Teagan can get her ears pierced when she is old enough to take care of them herself. I cant stand when people get their babies ears pierced. Why? Whats the point? I guess its a pet peeve of mine.
MomToMany replied: ITA. My thoughts exactly!
Celestrina replied: I couldn't agree more. I work in a jewelry store and it makes me cringe when have customers buying earrings for infants.
mom2tripp replied: I don't have a girl so I might be totally off here but I always thought it was cute to see little baby girls with their ears pierced---BUT on the other hand my sister who is 10 has had hers pierced 2 times now and they keep getting infected and she doesn't really take care of them so....I'm not sure what I would do in that situation!
sunshine girls replied: I'll let Elle and Gwen get theirs done whenever they ask, they havn't yet though. My neice Arisha had her ears pierced when she was one week old, I wouldnt have done that but she didnt cry or anything, she hardly noticed when the piercist put the needle through.
amymom replied: I am going to get long here..... I used to be adamant about NOT having my daughters done. I saw no reason and was vocal to friends when they talked about having them done. When my SIL was pg. my SIL told me she was worried if it was a girl what would happen because that was a sore spot that she and my brother could not agree on. She wanted ears peirced before 6 weeks and brother said 'maybe 16'. I was the same way. Baby was a boy so no problem. Then 9 mos later my dd was born AND 9 mos after that their DD was born. So my brother said to me one day ... We compromised and she is getting her ears pierced at 6 mos. (in my view...my brother gave in way too easy.) However, this is how that was. Now go ahead 6 years, my dd is a huge tomboy, will not wear much in the way of girl stuff, but she asked to have her ears pierced. Finally (it took about a year and much work on her part, we made her show her responsibility) we did allow her to have them pierced, she was very brave, she took good care of her ears, and takes care of her earings and it has proven to be a good thing for us. I, however would not have guessed that in a million years I would have ever had my seven year olds years pierced. But I did and it helps when strangers notice the earings, they do not call her a boy.
Jamielou replied: Well both my girls had their ears done as infants carley was 7 months and delaney was 8 months and never had a minutes trouble out of either. I personally think it looks cute on them.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: I had my ears pierced when I was barely 3 weeks old.
My daughter does not, and will not get her ears pierece until 1) she asks for it, and 2) until *I* find she could take care of them properly.
It's one thing for my insane mother to tell her to tell me she wants earrings.... because she's trid to get Emilie to tell me to get her ears pierced....
it's HER body. I'm not going to do anyting to it.
3xsthefun replied: My girls can get their ears pierced when they ask have them done.
JAYMESMOM replied: Jayme had hers done at 3 months. She has had no problems and doesn't even bother them. Some days she will play with my earrings and then remember she has some and touch them and say my pretties.
I don't have a problem with babies having them at all. As for a second hole she will have to ask for that before it is done.
Anything else pierced will require she be 16.
